So I've got this shiny new radiator which is all well and good except that the temperature sensor that bolts into it near the bottom hose doesn't fit. The threads are different and the person I bought it from said it's to fit aftermarket sensors (greddy etc..).

Rather than going out and getting it re-tapped and modified to fit, as it requires more than re-tapping to fit, could I just do without the factory sensor and use the sensor from my aftermarket gauge?

Or will the ECU pick up on it and wreak havoc like creating problems with cold starts etc?

Im guessing RB20det? If so it has the temp gauge and coolant temp sensor mounted on the motor side. Maybe the sensor in the rad is for the thermo fan to kick in if it gets over a certain temp?

Just turns the electric fan in front of the radiator on and off
