i will do mate thanks but the thing is that it still boosts up lol ,like its has heaps of boost but no grunt behind it , like u driving along in third or four and plant it lags like revs go down slightly and then slowly goes back, but not as a qiuck and responsive like it use to be?and i put a full tank in it and when i have been driving it. the fuel in now down to a quater of a tank and only have done 180km on the tank, i think its somewhere in the eletrontics somewhere,in my thinking it might be getting to much fuel ??? any other problems it might be?? :)

arghh this is happening to me too!!! sorry to hijack mate but my car was lagging bad today too.. yesterday i cleaned out my AAC valve to sort out some idle issues i had.. and halfway to the city today the car starts to lag pretty much exactly as you described it.. and the idle is rough and lumpy.

any ideas? no mods really, as i said all i did yesterday was remove my AAC valve to clean it. pretty sure i put everything back on properly.

similiar problem to me,

car lags a bit, and i had a really terrible idle.

sometimes car would stall if i take a corner too slow,

changed spark plugs, helped the idle 10%

cleaned aac, helped antoher 10%

changed back to stock bov, from atmo, fixed the whole idle problem nearly completely.

Only issues i have, is

cold start idle, really lumpy

but once i drive aaround the block

it idles fine,

car still lags a bit tho?

ok so last night the same shit happened again!! it seems like every 2nd or 3rd time i start it up.. it will begin to idle badly and struggle to make boost. then the next drive it runs perfectly! does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

cheers

hey yea mine is still doing it but i think i somethin to do wit the computer or the wireing to it coz, i put my computer out and took the plastic cover off where the wires go and just pushed them in to make sure they are making contact, that seem to work for abit so i took it for a spin and then seemed fine , and i was rapped about it and then is started doing it again im going to go over the hole earths wires and everything else to make sure that everything is making contact , if any one else has any better ideas let us know thanks !!!

    • I found the same with Subaru’s.  I own and love the SG9 Forester, after that model 2008+, Subaru threw the ugly stick at all their line up and somehow managed to make them look worse with every succeeding year.  lol
    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
