Just read though the regs and have some questions if anyone can help?

- 1.7.4 All drivers must provide evidence of the last 3 motor racing events they have competed in. It will

be the discretion of the organising committee to accept drivers to compete. How do you do this when they're track days?

- Be fitted with a return spring on each throttle in the event of the throttle linkage becoming

detached. What's this???

- Bonnet Catches: Cars must be fitted with at least 2 independent fastening systems, of

adequate strength and limited extensibility, which simultaneously hold the bonnet or panels

closed. Does this mean just 1 additional fastener as the stock bonnet latch is ok?

Cheers

I believe that is correct. The bonnet catch is one. If you have bonnet pins then you are fine (being a 2nd) and not relying on any part of the bonnet catch. I have also seen a nylon rope or strap used as a secondary fastening system from the radiator support panel to underneath the bonnet

At most events now, you actually need another one.

So the normal bonnet release system and then a strap or something.

Its becoming more common now for sprints and stuff, superlap they required it, and some drift days too

Your car has the linkages already bobby :D

I have my team entered now, Team number 1 - well first team entered anyway. I am planning on running my R33 GTS-T as long as everything goes to plan.

I hope you guys and girls put at least one team in, it should be a great event!!

Can you tell me how many cars will be on the track at any one time??

I know under Cams L2S its a maximun of like 8 cars can be on the track at any one time..some of my team mates are bit concerned about the 36 teams all having up to 6 drivers. Thats alot of cars that you need to get through to do there laps.

If there is 20 teams entered there is only 20 cars on track.

In practice you can still only go on the track if you have the sash, one car per team on track at any one time.

:(

Cheers

Adam

Hey Adam,

But does that also mean 36 cars on the track if there are 36 teams?

I'm an unbelievable skillfull driver, but I think when they see fatz on the track the rest of the field will pit and therefor fatz' team will win :)

Seriously though, 36 teams on teh track at once on Wakefield, made up of weekend racers could get a little hairy. What happens if it's wet?

Thats correct, its not that bad really. I have seen 40 Formula Vees on the track there at once. At the Winton 6 Hour last year there were 43 teams, and not one car to car contact. It is not racing for sheep stations, everyone has to watch their mirrors and pass without embarrassment.

Well if its wet that means there is water on the track. :)

Seriously though, if it is raining then it is the same for everyone. Drive responsibly and everything is ok.

This is exactly my concern as well.

I have seen Wakie with 32 cars on the track at one time and they were racing and it was hairy :(

So what happens in Wakefields eyes if there was an " incident" (rubbing) on the track? Warnings given, sort it out yourselfs?

I just need to reassure my Team mates and hope there still willing to particpate..We are used to the same crowd at our super sprints and everyone knows their boundrarys and there is a level of curtosy...

I guess one way of putting it is" a really big super sprint/track day with just excessive traffic more than what we are used too" ;)
