Definately bring more fuel Chad - and you'll need pads too. More grunt = more brake use at the track. I'll be taking full tank of fuel + 3 jerrys - which will only increase once there is E85 in the tank!! I'll have to get a fuel truck from work!!

Daniel,

The oil control mods are essential if you have a high powered GTR, especially once you go semi slicks and proper race setup wheel alignment. How many killer wasps are you making now? If you haven't much track experience, and are running street tyres, an overfilled sump will generally do the trick - because you won't be pulling the cornering G forces and using the engine high in its rev range as much as once when you are relatively inexperienced on the track. Not having a personal go at you or your driving, its just what people normally do :)

+2 This is good info!

That's a f*cking crazy list of oil mods!!

Would fitting a larger, gated-baffled sump with a standard oil pump fix the oil issue to a certain extent? Or will that just pump more oil into the head due to the larger sump meaning more volume of oil?

I'd say a N1 water pump is just about standard these days on GTR's when they get the 100k service!

I run my GTR with the oil restrictor in the head and I have a normal sump its just baffled.. I still over fill the oil a Litre and half even with all this done and I am only running 280-300kws

I dont run an oil cooler as I find the temperatures are not to bad..But it would still be a good idea for me to do.

When I first took my GTR I didnt have any of this stuff done to it and I just overfilled the oil and I used semi slicks ..Did you get your car checked over by a mechanic before you brought it? If so I would top up the oil, check your brake pds and fluid and go out and have some fun

Wish I was coming out with you guys!

How many sessions do you guys get in one day?

Yeah it's had a compression test (wet + dry) (170psi across all 6) and a leak down test (3% variance across the cylinders) so the motor itself is in top notch.

Thats great then, Just over fill the oil a little, Check your brake pads and put new brake fluid in it and away you go!! Everyone has different opiouns about the oil issues RB26 can have..If you spew out oil over the day just check the level and top it up a bit more...Do you have a oil catch can fitted?

Street tyres will be fine if it's your first go just need to get some heat into them :)

Nah standard ventilation system... I'm still running stock boost with the stock restrictor in, so I didn't think i required a catch can system.

You could be surprised..cause isnt it high revs which causes the oil surging not boost?? Blue32 isnt that right :)

But it's all a learning thing tho and what works for you..What suspension has it got?

I ran 230kw out there with no catch can and all was fine.

Thats awesome value for money!

Much traffic on the days..

last time i had 4 other cars on track with me in the no cams licence group. Plenty of uninterrupted laps, it was awesome :)

Cool :)

Do you run street tyres? what do you rev it too?

With that power i had street tyres and did a 1.25.00 and i try'd not to rev it over 7000rpm

This time i have 300kw, semi slicks, half cage, and i want to fit a oil cooler before i go out. I don't think I'll be running it at full boost though.

:) What's full boost 21psi?

Thats going to be awesome fun this time!! I only ever run 1 bar (14psi) and thats enough for me ;)

Standard suspension ;)

But coilovers are on the books... only issue is, my driveway where the car gets parked is like vertical lol... so I'd scrape the entire undercarridge if I set it to anything below stock height... unless I just adjust it each time...

Car is basically stock... except with twin pods, front strut brace and heavy duty clutch... oh and a pretty lame exhaust.

Stock suspension isnt a bad thing if it's in relatively good nick ;) You should try the car out on the track before you get your mods and then you will know what the car really needs if Track work is what you want to get into.

I went more handling in my GTR than power..I still havent reached the proper potential of the car with me driving cause my partner gets in my car and driver atleast 3-4 seconds quicker than me..Im still learning to go fast :)

We all have to start somehwere..I do like the White R32 GTRs :)
