I'd love to see a gtx3076r making over 400rwkw on an RB. The curve should be pretty nuts.

Even better would be someone running two of them, high mounted on any kind of RB engine bigger than 2.6L otherwise I suspect the lag would be too much....even though it would feel insane when it did get some meaningful boost and it would have such a short RPM range where it just piles on the power increase. Would be a wild ride!

but a built RB with a GTX3076 would sh*t it in. I will check out the HTA76 further Lithium but I think the compressor housing is a little too big. Does it still run the Garrett rear?

Are you talking about on the VQ? I was aiming the response at Dajae who appears to have a Skyline, wouldn't think it should have a problem there. The FP turbos have OEM Garrett housings, though as you seem to be aware all use the .70a/r comp housings.

I'm not 100% sure why people are excited about the GTX3076Rs tbh. The comp wheel doesn't flow as much as a GT3582R compressor, and a back to back dyno with a GT3082R has proven them to offer no better spool. There hasn't been anything yet to make me feel like they are something special, they flow like they are a bigger than a GT3076R and spool that way too - more lag and more power are just a typical trade off.

In all honesty so far I prefer the idea of a Kando T67!

Spool 3.4

Awesome! Mine is going on a spool 2.8 kit. They're a nice bit of kit, too :)

Thanks Lith, will look into the FP range. I know the evo guys have good results with them.

N1, makes two of ua mate! :D i hope to push that boundary soon :) and if the results look promising on the 3.4, even better :)

Yeh sorry, VQ.

I can only go by what Garrett's maps tell me, the GTX3076 flows more than the GT35 and the FP HTA. Hopefully they aren't talking crap.

That GT3582R compressor map isn't right... see from Garrett:

Either way, more than enough to way outflow the GT30 imho which makes it pointless having that much compressor imho. Again, I am not at all convinced that a GTX3076R will make any more power than a FP HTA GT3076R.

^ as above, can only but try. The compressor is not the only part of the equation, even if the compressor CAN move x amount of air at y amount of boost its irrelevant if either the engine, the fuel system, the other boltons, the turbine housing/wheel, or any other part of the car isn't up to supporting that power figure.

Air leaks are the worst one, you often can't hear them and they aren't bad enough to effect day to day driving, but on boost if they start wasting compressor flow will kill power.

I wish more tuners would insist on doing a smoke test before tuning a car these days.

Agreed. I think i have everything needed to achieve it, or atleast get close. Head has had some decent work done, although im steering towards oversize valves to help out a bit. And some decent cams. Im still reading up on threads relating to e85 though..

I hear good things about pierburg (spelling?) fuel pumps.. :)

The end of next week, not much dyno time needed, only enough to make sure the new TB and stuff is working right.

Goes in on Tues night or Wends morning which is when Ill drop of the sump for Stevo.

It will be good not to be loosing all that air, it couldnt even get the pressure up past 2psi (If I remember right) on the smoke test machine bottle gauge thingie as the leak was so bad. pinch.gif

Dajae - I bought a pierburg but haven't fitted it yet...I created a thread on my findings and what I can tell you is that it flows more than the aeromotive stealth by a decent margin but I can't recall the figures exactly.

As a comparison, Bosch 044 flows 200ltrs/min @ 5bar whereas the pierburg flows 360ltrs/min @ 5bar.

They are not cheap so expect to pay about $450 with a filter.

    • We have 2x Swifts and my plans for a Swift, unfortunately, do not extend to an intake and an exhaust. I've been having dirty thoughts about a 2.5L Suzi V6, AWD gearbag out of a suitable donor, rear floorpan graft to take the rear cradle from same, and either trumpets of evil or a small supercharger. If I'm going to make noise in a Swift, I want it to be anti-social, evil handling and rough. Probably need to be fully stripped inside, matt black paint, plastic windows, 7" wide wheels, big brakes, silly suspension, etc etc etc. I have no idea if any of the proposed driveline components could take the pain. But it would be a hoot finding out.
    • Really, anyone modifying a car isn't being financially smart. We're doing it for the things we love. And honestly, a high revving, light, NA car is actually pretty darn fun. I used to have a Swift Sport, and I miss that thing as a daily, and yes, doing something like some intake and exhaust stuff would have made minimal gains, but would have bought an even bigger smile
