Hey I am in Sydney and am interested in doing a welding course somewhere for beginners.

I am considering tafe but maybe just a evening college type course would be OK for starters.

Anyone got any suggestions? Want to teach me the ropes?

automotive training centre have courses on MIG and OXY - no idea on how much, but they are 12 hour courses - so prob 2 days - might be a start

Automotivetrainingcentre.com.au - and no i havent been there to see what they are like.......yet :(

I've done three welding coures at TAFE, found the experience to be great and you meet people who may be into cars and doing stuff as well that you can compare learner notes with... did night courses they go for a fair few weeks so you get a chance to try at home and get tips as your learning over at the course...

I want to go back and do TIG next...

I've done an after hours course at Tafe, I highly recommend it. I wasn't really too interested in oxy and stick modules but I did them anyway. I think it was 6 months one night a week for; stick, mig, oxy and tig.

Better value for money than a two day course in my opinion.
