MSY have NOTHING in stock at the moment, taking forever to get all my bits.

From what i've read on the Gigabyte website

EP45-UD3R = DDR2 RAM

EP45T-UD3R = exactly same features as EP45, but DDR3 RAM.

However the EP45T commonly is cheaper than the EP45?!

Is there any downside to getting the EP45T, and sticking DDR2 RAM in it?

If what you say is true, besides needing a hammer to get it in and then it never working, no I see no problem with putting DDR2 on a DDR3 board :P

Only a few mobo's can support both DDR2 + DDR3....few of the X38’s and the EP35C model come to mind and I’d assume some of the new X48’s and the EP45C would be the same.

Since you're in Adel, try your luck with > All Needs Computers < for that mobo.
