ok guys i want to put a veilside rear bar on my r33 4door.

first question is does anyone know if it fits for sure????

im 99% sure it will

next question is does anyone know if the 4door rear bumper bar support/reo is the same as the coupe?

if not, i will need a coupe rear bar support/reo for the new bar?

will the coupe rear bar support/reo bolt straight up to the sedan rear end.

as with the rear bar im 99% sure it will

i think it should all bolt up the same cause the shape of the lower rear end(below tail lights) looks the same, except the original 4 door rear bar stick out more then the coupe one, thats why i think the support/reo may be different?

if anyone can give me a yes/ no answer i would greatly appreciate it.

what about if i use a coupe reo/support bar?

isnt the distance from the rear wheel arch to the rear of the bar the same distance??? correct me if im wrong. im only guessing.

thanks for the info.

Benm from this forum has a coupe rear bar lying around so we are going to try out the fit of it on my car and see what happens. this way i know how serious the mods will be.

i really need to know this cause there are no real good aftermarket bars for the 4 doors besides the impul one.(which i dont really like)

Basically the sedan in is about 80mm longer in the body after the rear axle, so the rear bar is longer by that amount.

I don't see how that makes a difference as the rear bar doesn't wrap around the corner it just goes flat across the back and then screws in right at the 'corner' as you can see here:

Pic of rear bar on coupe

Obviously my new 400R rear bar wouldn't fit as it has the side pods which connect to the rear bar and if the 4 door is 80mm longer than the side pods would have to be 80mm longer.

I'm going by what body kit manufacturers/sellers have told me when I enquired about kits about a year ago. I was told that the only part of a 2-door kit that would fit is the front bar. It would be great if the coupe rear bar would fit because as said earlier in the thread, there is sweet f.a. available in the way of rear bars, or body kits in general for sedans. Keep me posted on how you go walkaou......

Ben

we will prove to them that a coupe rear bar fits!!!(i hope)

i will definetly keep u posted on this.

tony

the i really want a rear bar that makes a bit more of a statement than the 400r but if thats my only option i will have to do it.

i also have to try to keep costs down so the bar + the custom rear pods may cost too much.
