Morning All

I would firstly like to draw your attention to the Business Trader Sliding Performance. For the past 3 weeks i have been in discussion with Brent from Sliding Performance about a new clutch and injectors for my car. Last wednesday i deposited 2020 dollars into their account, on friday he told me the money was showing in their account but as though it had not yet cleared. This was a cash deposit so it should clear straight away. Since friday i have sent numerous emails to the website and PM's on SAU to which i have no response. I made it clear that i needed the parts by thursday 15th as my car was booked in for a tune in Adelaide (4 hours from where i live). I have also checked the ABN details for sliding performance and the ABN has been cancelled as of late last year (please see link below). Therefore i am warning all SAU users to not buy from Sliding Performance as this situation seems very suspicious. If anyone has any contact details for Sliding Performance apart from the email i would greatly appreciate them.

thanks

Jaron,

I think you may be over-reacting to the situtation, it hasn't been that long, and PM's and emails aren't the best way to get a quick response. I suggest you try calling them.

They've been trading a long time, and I doubt there is any issue.

Cheers

Paul

mate ur not the only 1 to have had troubles with them.

i ordered a power fc d-jetro through them last year and took 3 months to arrive wen they assured me it would take 21 days. there excuse was they were still waiting on the sensors to come but they had the rest of the computer. i was told it would take another 3 weeks just for them to get the sensors and then send them to me. after some very abussive and threatening language, wot do do u know, i had a pm within 2 hours with my tracking number saying that all parts were on there way.

he mite offer good prices on parts but in my own opinion he has a very bad attitude towards customer service and i now refuse to buy from him, would rather pay a little extra to know that ill get my goods on time

Its Tuesday, and you're questioning something from Friday in terms of response?

Honestly nothing more than a big over reaction.

I can understand you might be a little anxious for your parts, however ordering them less than a week before you need them really isn't the best idea.

No doubt you'll hear from them this week, so please post up once you do, and then i can lock this thread.

They are also a paying Trader of this forum, so its not as if no-one knows who they are, and no-one has dealt with them

yeah thats the thing that has me worried the most, the fact that the ABn has been cancelled and i have not had a response since the money has been deposited. Also very annoyed that i have had to put the tune back when i was promised that the parts would be sent out on Monday as now i dont have them.

Still kind of wierd that they arent a registered business anymore...

They could be registered business now. From that link it was a sole trader/individual ABN that was cancelled. They could now be setup as a company and have a trading name of sliding performance. Being a sole trader can be risky seeing that you have unlimited liability.

As R31 nismoid said, they are a paying registered trader on the forum. I have dealt with them a few times with no problems what so ever.

Hope you get your parts

nothing but awesome dealings with Sliding performance.

last deal was Tomei poncams and had them within 1.5 weeks of ordering, great service IMHO

the turbo I bought 3 yrs ago took a cple months for delivery, but I was ok with that as wasnt in a rush and was kept in touch all along.

dunno about others, always been a pleasure for me to deal with Sliding performance; (edit: also got coilpacks from slide)

.... the turbo had a 1yr warranty & she's still sweet. the cams shoulndt be an issue. the cam spring lifters were from Slide too, just thru an onseller who bought, reconsidered and onsold the order to me.

keep trying to contact them, perhaps via the webpage address they have too?

good luck

Correct - I recently did exactly this, and my old ABN was cancelled and I was assigned a new one.

i have delt with sliding performance a fair bit.

power fc, injectors, afm, turbo coils all from them, it is frustrating when your after an answer and you cant get it right away via PMs and email but i always got my parts in good condition....all round good dealings.....

Nothing but good dealings with Slide from me - most parts ive bought have been in stock and delivered on time, a few have been from Japan, everything has come on time, intact and exactly as requested.

I think the timeframe expected for a response is unrealistic - if I was Slide and saw you'd started this thread for such a small timeframe i'd refund your money and not deal with you again.

Anyway, who orders parts that close to a tune?

Never had a problem with them.

Depending on the type of courier and frieght type used parts will take from QLD to SA 3-7days. If sent on friday if its the arvo then they wont go till monday morning. Unless you paid for overnight express freight it will take some time. I have also had cash deposits take a few days to clear.

I thought the same, but after reading it again, I think it's more a misunderstanding over the de-registered ABN. That probably spooked the OP into taking action. Top Chef confirmed that when he registered his company his old ABN was cancelled and a new one issued. Sounds like a reasonable explanation.

+1 though for ordering parts with plenty of time to spare. If parts aren't in stock, things can take 6+ weeks to get here from Japan if on a ship.

For the record, I have had good experiences dealing with Slide.

i think you're all missing the point. he spoke to them, explained he needed the parts by whenever, and was assured that he'd receive them on time. so sliding performance closed the deal on a sale, and then disregards the rest. yes?

I had the same thing when going into a partnership.

He may have started out as a sole trader, as he was finding his feet in business, and as he has become larger and had an increase in turnover he has decided to become a company.

    • For sure the later RB26 variants had a different setup (6 cam voltage sender?), but the RB25DE/DET share the same ECU pinout/PCB footprint, and at the ECU plug it ends up being 'throttle sensor in' & 'throttle sensor out' (to A/T TCU) ...you stick a multimeter on these pins and you'll find them directly connected (0 ohms) ; I had an pair of Nissan ECUs on the bench long ago, and I noticed this throttle sensor in/out link, actually linked to an op-amp ...which was unpopulated on the NA board, but present on the T board and I went 'ah-ha!' in some moment of clarity... ...it wouldn't surprise me if they changed strategy here though (in the software and actual monitoring of this signal), because they did with other stuff (A/T signals).. and 0.45v as a trigger point makes sense, as that's what the external TCU units expect at idle ; kudos, thanks for that insight...I suppose it boils down to whether or not Consult can display real time data of that signal's voltage... ...in any event, it presents the same target...ie; rotate TPS unit to achieve 0.45v to suit both ECU&TCU, and where do you goto from there? Just disconnect TPSwitch connector and/or that plus TPSensor connector....or do you go for the throat and disconnect IACV solenoid and see if it still stalls? (probably throws a recoverable fault code and goes for default idle strategy?)...
    • I’m also conscious that e85 is slowly being phased out. Not all United’s have them anymore. Can’t take the risk of being low on petrol and assuming the servo will have it.
    • MR HAMMER has said his piece. Painted up to avoid Rusty Rusty. Actually lines up well. (i.e it lines up the same as the unmolested GTR guard). Turns out the GTR Strut brace does foul on the bonnet vents ever so slightly. May need a little bendy bendy if intended to keep using with a strut brace. So spacing it out to clear the FAST102 is not an option. Annoyingly, the bonnet vents also foul on the heater lines running over the engine. Given this engine does not EVER require a heater, a delete loop is going to be used. Don't worry, the defogger uses the AC. The heater is basically "Do not use the aircon and turn the fan on". It will still be effective, I promise.... once I get the system regassed... Will have to revisit with unvented bonnet I suppose, and suitable strut brace. There's plans to do this and other things tonight and bleed brakes (there was a weep) and put the bumper back on, and take Good Friday morning - Because troubleshooting on the side of the road limping it home at midnight tonight is ... not very smart.
    • Thank you all for you assistance. I contacted Nistune regarding the support for the RB20DE along with my ECU Code (23710-10U00). They do have a map for it and added the RB20DE as a purchasable option now as well. They also added Malta as a Billing and Delivery options as this was missing. I was honestly amazed at their quick response and action, it took less than 24 hours. I also looked again at direct fit options for injectors, just in case I were to replace them. DeatschWerks seem to use a Bosch EV14 base and makes ones that fit mine at 440cc lowest, but also have 550cc at the same price. I tried looking for other direct fit options and managed to find one (also Bosch EV14 based) which includes a plug and play adapter on ebay. Did a small test with a Noid Light on the troubled injectors and all seems good, so they are pulsing properly electrically. One weird part is that they are missing on the same two cylinders as before I got the injectors cleaned. Mechanic also found this weird as he did not label the injectors and it is unlikely to have the faulty injectors be installed in the same cylinders.
