Hey guyz, just thought i'd post up a cai mod for all u guyz who use stock cooler piping and want cooler air for your pod.

This simple process only took 10mins and will give u noticable power gains and economy

u will need:

40-50mm hole saw ($10)

reputable drill ($150+)

500mm of 40 or 50mm diameter flexible hose from clark rubber ($11)

a zip tie ($5 pack of 50)

half a brain (priceless)

now remove or push away the pod to locate the already pre-drilled hole, this makes life alot easier. Problem is i accidentally deleted the photo but u get where it was from this pic (just below the square hole). Now just stick the drill bit in and slowly drill ur hole over approx 1 minute and u'l be left with this

when u look down the hole you should see the ground and a good spot to mount ur hose

now get under the car and screw/feed your hose through the hole

now u can judge how much to cut off the hose to get a perfect fit to where u want to mount it, I zip tied mine to my cooler hose like so but it can be wherever u like, but the less bends, the better.

and thats it!, my advice is also to make a partition for ur pod aswell, these mods together will help greatly

great thread but IMO you need a much bigger CAI hose to make it worthwhile. kinda limited by having the stock piping still there but you're only going to pull a small fraction of the engine's air through that hose.

... why dont u look 6 threads down from this one where there is an identicle write up.

Yes, it is quite similar but this is for ppl who use 'stock cooler piping' not just the hole where to stock cooler piping used to be

shorter pipe with a bellmouth ... away from rain but in the open for air

Rain doesnt hurt pods. They are "waterproof".

2 foot deep puddles hurt pods.

Oh, and good writeup. I thought of doing this myself. But the whole reason i went Blitz LM was to avoid cutting holes for intercooler pipes. Might as well just get a normal FMIC and use the stock hole! ha. Hence why im back to stock airbox :P
