Have you seen the number plates in Japan? They are huge.

Slim line NSW plate mounted in original position doesnt block off that much.

+1 but then again japans temps are very low compared to the australian conditions; GTR's imported into the euro market are generally fitted with extra oil coolers to cope with highway temps.

ummm if you watch ignition dvd, there was an aus time attack gtr which went over to compete and when they tuned the car fo japans conditions it gained something like 50kw and intake temps fell to 12degrees.

On a hot day here we see 40-50+ intake temps, cold night??? im not sure, ill take a look (probably 20-30)

Why are GTRs not fitted with oil coolers here? Perhaps it's because Europe has better roads and average speeds are faster (especially Autobahns). Sustained driving at high speed would push temperatures up.

According to average max/min temperatures Japan gets hotter in summer and colder in winter than here. Saying Japan doesn't get hot is a myth. However Sydney has some mild days in summer and some stinkers, Japan may consistently be around the 30C mark during the day and seldom get much hotter.
