Different question on BOVs

OK, what is (Manufacturer / Model / Brand) of a BOV that does a little of the 'schhhhhhhhh" sound , but won't be loud enough to get you in trouble with the cops ? (Oh, an not scare the Bejeezuz outa people on the street ??)

Any really... if you have them adjusted like i have mine, they won't sound until high boost (where your exhaust is making a crap load of noise as it is) but a turbosmart one or GFB one will pshhh but not be too loud.

I only have a std BOV but my APEXI Power Intake makes the normally quite quiet "psssh" sound more audible now.

If it's not OEM, Cops will make a fuss of it if they want.

Many BOV's have adjustible springs or whatever that allow you to change how loud it is.

are you sure about that?

the spring regulates the activation pressure to cater for a wider range of pressures offered by turbo's and supercharges...

wether it effects the sound could be a spin off of that...

Maybe I'll stick with the factory one - I do know that with a Pod on, the standard BOV vents a little back thru the POD.

Well yep Franks..... I believe basically (I'm don't guarantee this) but if you relieve more pressure its loader... and less presure is quieter...

no, i think thats wrong.

my BOV has been tightened so that it doesn't open until about 5 or 6 psi... anything below that makes my turbo flutter because the BOV isn't opening. it makes no difference to sheer volume.

Prank, if your BOV is still fluttering wouldnt it mean you need to loosen the BOV?

yeah, thats what i was saying.. i tightened it so that it wouldn't go off until higher boost... i like being able to drive semi quietly.

careful you dont tighten it up too much as otherwise itll be forcing pressure back onto the turbo which is what the BOV is meant to stop...

yeah but its opening at 5psi+

you wont cause damage to the turbo with backwards running pressure until 10psi+.
