I consulted my Japanese GT-R book and from what I can gather, there are no definitive answers, only because it was offered as a normal model, like a V-Spec II.

I can tell you there were 3 M-Specs built as test models in January '01 (BNR-400801-803), before they were officially released in April '01 (BNR-401356 onwards). The EY0 gold paint came the Japanese Primera.

interseting.. so when they quote the number of v-spec II's this must include the m-specs.

someone once told me that they were produced for 6 months with little made each month due to the time consuming hand stitching for the leather interior.

it would be nice to know the actual number though!!

There probably weren't many - I know they were only built at a rate of around 50 per month, because the leather interior was very time consuming to make and they also had extra staff on hand for quality control.

Working on your six month production run, you'd be looking at not much more than 300 cars. PM me your chassis number and I'll check it in FAST, but I'm pretty sure the M Specs come up as V-Spec 2s in there.
