I've never liked either brand. Soundstream go for looks before functionality which is stupid in the world of audio, and response is cheap...

if that is a WRMS rating, then good, otherwise I wouldn't be seen near those two brands...

but that's me, it will still make noise

beg to differ mate soundstream have been leading the audio industry for years,

any way

www.bitaudio.com.au

get some bargains on here mate

600 is a bit rich for the sub and don't buy a shitty amp for a good sub,

i would go for 12 having owned the 15 and the 12(the 10 inch is a very good sub aswell) and the t5s are much better than the t4s

and spend some money on a custom box

hope that helps

Im gonna have to stand up and defend the Prescision Resonse range of audio products. ther are great quality and actually perform like they say they do in there advertising (like on the packaging with power outputs).

people dont fancy the stuff becuase it has a low price tag when if you actually know anythihng about car audio you will know how many awards the entire range of amps have won.

end of day, its a grand that uses quality components and perform well.

good luck with watever you choose

I also have to agree with chris. I would use a response monoblock before even thinking about using say a pioneer / kenwood / JL amp.

They have recieved numerous awards for their amps and GENUINE power rating which state in RMS and not " maximum output "

These amps are sturdy and can take abuse. Ive owned 3 Response amps and have never had a bad day with them. Great input / output RCA functionality and can be tuned to your preferred music.

Hmmm... spose my level of audio is a little different to the standard stuff... I'm not sure Response make anything that can power my gear, and I doubt I could fit a soundstream amp in my car :D

When Soundstream were made in USA, their amps was really good! Now, I must say, they are sh*t

hahahaha someone is being a brand wh0re... Response products are far more superior than that Kenwood/Sony/Pioneer junk you see all over the market.

I've been installing car audio in a few of my mate's cars, and all I ever buy are Response Kevlar splits, Response 4x100 digital amps and guess what? they sound better than those flashy brand names.

I own a response amp... 4x100 actually... it's a good solid amp for people starting out, but it's no longer enough power for me... my mate his it in his supra now...

Maybe I should just be saying that i don't buy cheap audio gear... I understand that for something twice the price, you're probably only getting something one and a half times better, so it's not worth the money, but it's something I enjoy :D Price is literally the last thing I look at when buying audio gear...

and I haven't even mentioned a single brand I run in the car yet :D

Ohh old doofskies ..

haha.

Im not saying the response amp stands anything against DD Mono's DDZ2-LV's or DD Mono DDZ2-HV's..

But.. like you said .. for the novice in car audio its a good stepping stone.. thank god i never touched a sony amp in my life.. or those Boss audio 1000WATTS OF POWAH! amps .. -.-

Anyways.. Response is a great brand .. and have the awards to back it up .. its great for the guys who just want a thumping system, on a budget.

Ive got all my gear hooked up to my jaycar amps.. but once i decide to run my splits active and get Rockford Fosgate P3 DVC's then i will definately need something bigger .. but will always keep the Response D-Class mono in mind :P

that's the old serious, look at their new range of their Digital Amps!

no idea about the S/N ratio, but I can tell you they're a decent buy....

I've installed 2 lots of them and I can tell you, they're nice and clear and don't lack the frequency range of a more expensive amp.

Yeah I'm form CAA.. lol now called MEA, but I have a different username there.

There was a review on kenwood, alpine, clarion, response and a few others about a year or 2 ago.

Pretty sure it was in Zoom magazine, see if i've got it floating around, I'll scan and put it up.

Check the ohm rating if you are using response amp with a soundstream subwoofer as i recall their subwoofers ran at 3 ohm's, dont go blowing up your newly aquired gear.

The Response came out on top for both the the amplifiers and sub's, followed by Clarion then the other

brand there after.

You dont need to spend a fortune to get quality.

Sometimes people spend a fortune on on the bigger names and it sounds like crap.

    • ADHD in all form isn't about "can focus, or can't focus" or is hyper active or isn't etc.   It's all a dysregulation. Either time feels to be stationary, or time just vanishes in a split second. We are either under focussed on the task at hand (as we're over focussed on our surroundings) or we have no idea an atomic bomb went off beside us as we're so hyper focussed and locked in on things.   Not to mention the rapid fire thought process. What it takes a "normal" process to think up a solution to a problem, ADHD will be able to give you 5 different ways to solve the problem, and the pros and cons of each. While we can be highly impulsive and lack the ability to "control ourselves" we can also become paralysed with the inability to make a decision for ourselves. While most of us have an OCD like requirement for perfection, we lack the ability often to remain focussed to get things to a perfect state. Those with undiagnosed ADHD as adults, can often find the last part actually stops them ever attempting to do things that they have the ability to do, as the reasoning is often "if I can't do it perfectly, it's not worth doing"   As for projects... Ha ha ha, I still need to take the other half of my wall trim down in the Fiance's office so I can paint it. Need to finish digging and running the back yard drains, my R33, getting the Ninja bike registered (now being sold), the moped project, fixing either of the lawn mowers so they're reliable, along with a myriad of other things.   It's why I've been going through lately and just being brutal and clearing projects off that I won't actually ever complete. IE, moped will go to the tip, or be given away, bike is being sold, Subaru project being sold, some parts for other projects given away. Or I've been making myself focus on one thing at a time, by ticking off the smallest quickest ones first.   There's also a reason by our mid twenties we seem to be "know it alls", as we've all been down some of the weirdest and oddest rabbit holes when you follow the dopamine trail. It's often also why we're more a jack of all trades, but not a master of one.   However, pretty much all of my hobby projects, in one way or another, all come back around to automotive. That's my zen area.
    • Remember reading about this not too long ago. been for sale for a long time  this is like when the wife says you need to sell the car so you put it up for a ridiculous price no one will pay
    • You are perhaps suggesting that it is not a super car? Well....it's not an AU.
    • Dropped the MX5 of this morning to get the hardtop colour matched and some PDR done, they are also going to give it a buff to remove some "stubborn" swirl marks and light scratches in the clear coat Over the last few months the poor little thing has copped some shopping centre car park abuse, I try to not park in them, but hitting Westfield's a few times over the last few months has taken its toll, nothing really bad, but enough of a trigger for a "while we're in there" thingie  Once it's back and all the one colour, with a few dents and mark's removed I'll give some of these products a go and see what they're like
