Anybody Fancy Themselfs As A Good Photographer?

Recommended Posts

Fellow VICS,

As the only shooting iv'e ever really been good at has been done through the sights of an assult riffle I require the help of a budding photographer to help me take a few shots of my car. Now that I have finally got the carbon fibre I so patiently waited for on, I'd like to get a few pics of my baby before I go away with the Army.

Is there anybody out there is S.E who has some time free for a photo shoot this weekend???

My mates run PSI Parts and Sniper racing and there is a pretty cool brick wall that would make a good backdrop for a factory shoot. After I can introduce you to the guys and make sure whatever you need from now on will be taken care of. It may also be a good chance for you to grab some shots of some pretty cool cars in the shop. Maybe even some follow up work afterwards.

As I'm pretty strapped for cash atm for payment I have a Turbosmart II BOV I can offer for trade for your services.

Please let me know. I really want some good photos of my car as I never get it done and always wish I did when it is to late.

Cheers

MY GF just inherited a bloody good SLR. I am not sure of our availability over the weekend yet though, she just got back from France and we might be going away somewhere. Play it by ear a little closer to the weekend?

Disclaimer: I have the good camera, I do NOT have the good skills lol. Happy to give it a crack though.

i havent done much car stuff and i cant do stuff with multipe flashes and things. mainly cos i dont have an external flash. but lemme know if you are interested. also might be better to post this up in the photography section

G don't all of you put your hands up at once! lol

All good anyhow if there's no one out there stiff luck for me!

Well think about it - good camera gear is far from cheap

And it takes a long long time for people to learn and become decent/individual with their shots

And all you are offering is a BOV?

I think i can see why no-one is jumping, ye this is a club, but asking for pro shots for nothing is a bit much

I agree Nismoid! All I am offering is a BOV! Basically I was just putting the feelers out to anyone looking to maybe better their skills and meet some new people in the industry. Where will be doing it are some of the best mechanic/fabricators iv'e come across. As the work shop has only opened to doing custom work it's a good chance to get in and get some quality work done for a great price. Thats all I can offer....

Hey Basti,

Not after full pro shots. Just someone that knows what they are doing. If your free on Sat for an hour mate let me know. Would be a good day to get down to the factory as well and meet the guys from PSI.

PM me your number...

p.s If your busy that's no worries. Just let me know when your free and I'll work around it. I'll also chuck in for your petrol costs and a bbq and beers to.

Can get a decent Digital SLR, just dont have any skills in photo taking. While the DLSR's generally take good shots, i'm sure they can be much better than I can take them by someone that knows how to sue the damn thing other than point and shoot.

My brother, myself and a few mates had some pro-ish shots taken last year. Cost between $100 - $200 for pretty basic stuff. Did the trick though, turned out well.

hey mate on of my good mates runs and own Driftjunkie productions and does some nuts photo's/video's not just a cheap $300 vid camera either im talking in the $1000's ill have a chat to him tonight/this arvo and maybe pull some strings free of charge

    • Yep, that was one of the things we learned fast in the past with our MX5. When you drive with the top down, you are effectively standing out in the sun, 100% of the time, and not getting in any shade (because roads aren't shaded generally!). Just like standing out in the middle of a field on a sunny 27C day is a bit of a bad plan, so is sitting in a MX5 without sun protection.
    • I also just ordered some Frankenstein bolts and side mounts to fit a hard top Just in case I do find one, basically so it doesn't need to be fixed to the car with only the front latch.......and then gaffa tape to keep it in place for the RTN journey from wherever I get it
    • If your temps are fine now, you probably won't have any issues with where your vents are as they don't look right up at the windscreens high pressure area, so any differences when giving it the beans for extended happy laps would be minimal, but, they should vent heaps when stuck in traffic  Much like how that reverse cowl on my SS let "visible" heat out when stationary, but, because it was basically at the windscreen my coolant temps on the Hwy actually raised because air was being fed into it at speed (110kph), to only come back down to around 90° when I got off the Hwy And your 100% correct about the NC currently not needing vents, but, if I was to add a turbo, and a oil cooler and intercooler in front of the condenserand radiator, and then take it to the track???? It is apparently a recommend requirement if I don't want to worry about coolant or oil temp issues, but, any of the above are possible scenarios, over time As it sits now, with the triple pass radiator and stock air conditioning system, I have absolutely no issues with either temps or air conditioning efficiency, I've been basically daily driving thie car for the last month, both on the Hwy, and peak hour, bumper to bumper traffic, but, that's pretty much expected from basically a standard engine  Talking about no issues daily driving, it was 39° the other day and I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the M5 and then M7, with the top down, and with the air conditioning blowing nice cold air on my feet, balls, and face, well, there was one issue, my head and arms got pretty sun burnt Note to self: leave a hat and sunscreen in the car for such days 🤣
    • I would agree, unless you need something specific to the HV motor/battery side repaired or investigated, any mechanic will be able to perform normal services, but if you prefer, maybe look for a mechanic who regularly services/repairs Nissans, the VQ engines are pretty common in the Nissan lineup.  Sorry, I can't make any suggestions, I don't live in Vic.
    • Some of them keep working fine. 9 out of 10 of them end up causing an absolute misery bleeding the system and get thrown on the workshop floor in a tantrum and never thought about again because they were never really needed and just added crap to the car that we could have done without. Same-same with HICAS, A-LSD, and various other stupidities that over eager 10x engineers thought we had to have.
