this is very unlike sydneykid.. hes always been a champ. my work shut down over christmas also and had taken deposits for parts etc.. but let them know that were shutting down etc.

hope all ends well though.

Does sound strange, He's been a member here for a long time. I bought one of his kits when they first came out without any problems. Im sure there is a genuine reason and worst case you will get a refund if he is unable to supply the parts. Goodluck

??? ive read a few complaints about this guy in the past, is he really that good or does a few chinese whisper recommendations go too far!

Ive been affected by the whole reputation recomendation before only to be dissapointed.....goodluck with the transaction, hopefully this is the last thread i read about members being kept waiting anxiously and stressed.

yes i have had nothing but great chats with Gary in late November and early December.... he said everything was on it's way before xmas, and any shipping hold ups are no longer a problem.

But now when i call his workplace they are saying he is uncontactable and they're not sure when/if he's back.....wtf?

That was my only way of contacting him.

They said he no longer has a computer there also so i assume he's packed up.... eeek!!

I tried to warn the forum about this guy about a year ago...only to cop a warning from mods.

He's entered at Superlap...maybe front him there...although last year he also entered and was a no-show.

ive never had a problem with Gary. when i ordered mine i told him how urgent it was, i paid on the thursday and he dropped them off himself on the Sunday. im sure he'll get in contact with you soon mate.

I didn't bother buying anything from him other than the shocks. Every other part in his discount 'group buy' was over priced. He even sold the R33 rear camber kit at the same price as the R32 kit, which made it $200 over retail, about a 300% mark up :( . He didn't adjust the price for over a year into the group buy until he was pulled up on it in public...

Its not looking good mate. If you go to the group buy section you can see that R31Nismoid has closed them all stating the same thing in each thread

No response to PM's from Admin, means these are all over red rover

Thanks

ok......I've just be updated by a close source to seek legal advise.

Apparently many others are.

so there you go fellas.....

All the best in the hunt, definitely anyone affected by this trader should register into this thread so you can keep updates on anything happening etc.

Hopefully the moderators will provide any details they can........unless they take bribes from the trader

i think with the stict legalities of this forum that it is highly unlikely that the mods are taking bribes.. or that gary would be fronting any amount of money that would be worth taking a bribe for... and no amount of bribe can hide any info if it come into a serious legal battle..

also if infact there are others and legal actions are to be taken.. try joining together and all sue together as will be cheaper in legal fees

further:

Gary does not work at superior suspension anymore.... he moved his office out according to them over xmas.

i've been told to get legal advise by a source who knows what is happening but won't expand on it. apparently i am one of many.

but the odd thing is...there seems to be no one else on this forum or other forums who have dealt with him lately or had anything on order so it's hard to band together or get extra info.

    • 99.9% of them are viscous diffs. The 0.01% are helicals. They were only option-able in the series 2, as well. I have redline heavy shockproof in my helical. It seems... fine? I don't think anyone is ever going to know until something really breaks and at that point I'm not sure anyone will blame the oil. I just chose it because it's extremely heavy duty and my car will see not-road-legal duty for it. I've also had sadness with various diff oils in the past sweating out everywhere and/or other 'fun' things, with clutch diffs. Given you have a 1.5 way on the shelf, I'd not even bother with the diff in the car and just get to tinkering with it. I would spend the $90 on oil toward the labor of someone else putting the diff in if time poor even lol.
    • I believe mine is helical and not clutch type. During drifting one wheel was spining as if it was open diff so bought kazz 1.5 way and has sat on my shelf for the past 5 years as I want to learn shiming process and do it myself   in meantime thought I change the diff oil hence post here. So any 75-90?   i am pretty sure r34 are helical not clutch lsd as standard . That is gtt ones
    • Throw between gears are so much that is getting annoying. I have pro short shifter on my mx5 and e36 and love it . Skyline is getting unbearable    would syncro issues and short shifter is no no? Anyone mind explaining a little on why before i buy cube
    • No. Well, some people "seem to use redline shockproof in the diff". Most do not. I would only contemplate it if you have badly worn CW&P gears. And no. No-one in their right mind has ever put ATF into a diff. Any normal diff/gear oil of the right viscosity will do. Whatever takes your fancy. Castrol, Nulon, Penrite, Redline MT range. Whatever. It's just gears. 75W-90 or 80W-90 is typical. I think that GL-5 is hard to avoid these days, although I think that a GL-4 is probably preferred, given the vintage of the equipment. At least Redline offer a number of GL-4 oils. If you have a clutch type LSD instead of the VLSD, then of course you need a proper LSD oil. Anything from any of the same names above. If you have a helical LSD, then it does not require LSD oil, and the recco is the same as for the VLSD. You don't want the LSD friction modifiers in the oil for a non-clutch type LSD if you can avoid it.
    • You may want to list it up for a little higher - This price is much lower than you may realize. Here you're pretty much selling to people who most likely already have these things on their own rigs. S chassis people eat this stuff up like you'd not believe.
