Also one other thing, Anybody who says anything about vicious dogs. Its all how you train it. If you got any other questions just PM me or ask me on the forums.

There aren't vicious dogs, just poor backyard breeders and stupid owners.

The only difference being that the bigger dogs (such as Rotties, German Sheps and Pittes) do a lot more damage when

poorly bred and trained. Ideally the dog should be a very placid but protective if it doesn't know a person.

haha love that video!

I'd go a kelpie personally due to their intelligence, their ability to entertain themselves when you're not there, they are generally very well mannered dogs (wouldn't leave small children near them though), lack of moulting everywhere, and generaly hardiness. Added to that you can play with them all day and they don't wear out!

I can't stand stupid dogs though, my gf has a 60kg labrador that whilst VERY good natured is too stupid to learn to fetch or really do anything other than slobber, pant and roll on his belly.

I've got a Kelpie called Drifter & I'd happily leave him around children of any age. It comes down to the individual dog, regardless of a breed's reputation.

But you are spot on about how smart they are. My little boy knows quite a few tricks and he's definately the most placid thing ever!

Mishka is awsome!!!

I have two huskies. When we got the first (6 years ago) he was really bored and upset when we went to work. As such was howling nearly all day and just being generally detructive. Got a second 2 months later and it fixed everything overnight. Even if they don't hang out together, they take a lot of comfort in knowing that the other is there.

There not viscious I have an 18 month old daughter and they know to keep there space or be gentle when she is around (obviously nver leave them unsupervised with children, any dog!)

But the hair oh the hair it is full on always around the house, constant brushing when they are shedding (not so bad when they are not) but they shed twice a year for about 6 weeks each time.

Huskies aren't the type of dog you train to take orders though. they are very independent so don't really listen unless they want to (if that makes sense).

Good Luck!
