What would be the best choice?? I want to build up the car.. drags & main street n strip with power :D

So just asking whats the best things to choose?? (I have the choice of either)

Cheers!

wtf?

if you're transplanting an entire GTR driveline into a gtst you may as well just buy a GTR as it will be cheaper.

If you do go AWD in a 32, you can always just install a switch to disconnect the atessa fuse and it will go RWD.

Ah k thanks man.. Yeah well i love the style of my car too much.. the look of her ect.. its for the love not really cost..

But i wasnt looking at transfering the driveline ect.. it would jsut save me finding a RB25 gearbox ect

I was swaying towards the RWD though?? But if the switch is possible then ill do that! Never heard of it done b4??

It's a very hard job mate, not to mention all the other GTR extras that you won't have. RWD is your best bet really, you can just cut and weld up the 26 box, it's no different to the 25 box besides the extra stuff fr awd.

You can get a attessa torque split controller which allows you to switch from 4wd or rwd or even the amount power you want to the front wheel. HKS, Grid and some other brand makes it. There is one 4sale on ebay as well.

How does that help him when he doesnt even have a 4WD drivetrain?

4WD isnt as simple as buying the RB26 and dropping it in, its not magically 4WD overnight.

Full drivetrain, diffs, mounts, the works... to much effort for a R32, infact too much effort when you can buy a GTR cheaper

i just went through this with my 33... was just gonna be a SUPRISE MUTHA f**kAS sorta thing for wen my car was complete lol...

u need front crossmember with driveshafts, hub carriers etc.. not sure if the 32's suspension is different tho...

u need the complete attesse wiring harness with pump reservoir and computer to make it work for one....

then u need to extensively work the floor pan to get the transfer case and front tailshaft to fit aswell...

being a 32 id probably suggest the rear cradle would need to be swapped out for a gtr item aswell.

and as nismoid said engine mounts need to be changed i dont think the gbox crossmember would even suite a gtst but unsure its alot of work and not for the faint hearted is different and kinda cool but personally not worth the effort...

wat u do now is upto u

Thanks for all your help fellas, and i have a GTR R32 halfcut with the GTR gearbox n front diff ect so i can do either really,

Thats why i was wondering what would be best to get power to ground in a sence or what the perks of each were..

But if i do end up doing to AWD yeah i will look for the splitter ay!

I've renumbered my TSC - it now goes to 11!

These go to 11

Huh? AWD gets more power to the ground but is heavier upfront and overall. RWD is less traction but lighter, cheaper and good for all forms of motorsport. If you didn't already know that then you don't know what you're getting into trying to do a drivetrain conversion, a GTR halfcut will not give you everything you need.

well that was abit of a shut down..

Well im just getting into the GTR & RB26 side of things.. ive always been around and working on RWD RB25's RB20's becuase they are more common on the coast.. Not alot of people have the GTR's here.. so thanks anyway but the first few replys, was what i needed..

and ive made up my mind anyway, im just going to get the RB25 box.. i jsut wanted to ask the question wasnt a "Im deciding tomorrow" thing..

But thank you aDrew_C for your insight also..

yeah the real killer is the floor pan as mentioned. gbox mounts differ as well, rear gtr diff also has provision for the attesa pumps on top. You also need the entire attesa controller/loom as well so the split control works which you won't have.

Its a fair bit of work. If you have a front cut then you would just drop the entire sub frame out and swap it in which will work. But as already mentioned the floor pan makes running a gtr box difficult, can be persuaded but lol.

I would do it personally, I love 4wd. Nothing quite like being 10 car lengths on them while there still back at the lights going sideways.

Sorry dude but i think someone needed to say it.

It just seemed as if you thought it was something...

1. cheap

2. relatively simple

3. done with just a front cut

sadly thats not the case. hence people have said time over its cheaper to buy a GTR

correct me if im wrong here but im pretty sure the sub frame on the gtr/ gtst4 is different to the gtst anyway to accomadate the front drive shafts so your need to do a cut and weld job, not advisable stick with the rear wheel drive as you car looks nice and clean so i understand you wanting to keep it
