Anyone know a good place to serve as a backdrop for car pictures in sydney?

cobblestones would be great, industrial backdrops also ok, or water ..

No other cars around, and no hassles from authorities if you want to take your time to screw around with a tripod?

What colour is your car? The colour of the car determines what backdrops work.

Not getting hassled, especially in a flash car, is a pain these days. Have a read of this blog post by Charles Kha, editor of AutoSalon Magazine.

Industrial parks are the best, as they're generally deserted on weekends. Unfortunately almost all of them are concrete grey, so if you own a monochrome car (especially silver or white) it doesn't come off the background properly.

As a silver car owner, it's something I constantly struggle with.

Everything from car parks to beaches to locations in the city, to under bridges etc etc..

It is black, so night shots are a little harder to do properly.

thanks for the tips everyone. I'll post results when I get my new rims on. (I always seem to be waiting for just that one more modification before deciding it is "ready").

McMahon's Point is also good, if you go before the sun comes over the horizon.

You can get the Bridge dead on, but you have to get there before it fills with people or the morning sun shines into the camera. By mid morning, forget about it. Way too crowded.

Are there any office buildings with massive glass panels down to ground level & where you can park at the front?

The glass must be clean lol. It should be able to reflect a setting sun rofl.

The car is black pearl. yeh narcissistic

Find some lit alleys with grafitti to back up behind light coloured cars. usually looks the goods.

His car is black, but I concur. I forgot that I took these pics of my girlfriend's car when I was scouring my gallery:

You just need to find some graf that is a really light colour - my side on "Sin City" one isn't ideal, even with the stupid flash reflecting off the paint.
