Hey guys,

My mate is getting frustrated with his Airbag light staying on.

Has tried "factory resets" but the light stays.

He has the stock steering wheel and has taken the car to Nissan who found the error code "CRDRH".

Consult showed that the code is located in "other".

Doesn't seem to be affecting the driving of the car, but he would love to have it gone.

Any suggestions?

Nope.

Still there.

Any ideas?

Anyone??

..... Bueller???

Has he played around with the airbag? like has he installed the radio controller? Maybe plug in the back has come loose.

I have no idea really but I thought I would trow you a bone so you know we are trying to think of a solution.

Is this your mate with the $400 M35? If so, maybe think about the options fitted and where they may cause a problem to the airbag?

Cheers and good luck.

Andy

Such a memory you have there sir!

Yes it is the $400 M35.

Can't really think of any aftermarket stuff installed that would have interfered with the airbag.

Maybe the entertainment system he has in there, or the Nismo dash could have effected it when installed.

The confusing bit is that it has disappeared in the past - although very briefly before it came back.

when i was doing trimming and the seats were removed from cars (mostly euros, but newer nissans are likely to be similar) and the car was then driven the airbag light would say on. the only way to get it turned off was to have a dealer reset the airbags via a diagnostic style tool. possibly the airbag plug under the seat has been unplugged or has come out??

Mine started flashing tonight and it won't go out

Wheel is stock, havn't had any collisions or anything.

Did anyone find a solution or a reason for the Airbag light to flash constantly? (comes on solid when you turn ignition on but once the engine is running it flashes).

Try this Stephen... worked for my mates car (although the light just came on again).

Turn the key to the on position and watch the airbag light. It should stay solid for 5-7 secs, and then turn off, and then start to flash.

To reset the light, you must turn the key to on, watch the airbag light stay solid for 5-7 secs and as soon as the airbag light turns off, turn the key to the off position (you have to turn the key to off before the airbag light starts to flash, or you must start over). You need to repeat this 5 times. Try to start the car, and hopefully the light will be reset

I will give that a shot, thanks dude!

I don't know as of yet what the actual error code is for my particular problem. I just tacked it on to this conversation as it referred to M35 issues with the airbag instead of starting a whole new thread.

I've been driving most of the day so I've seen enough of my car for now lol. I will give it a go tomorrow morning though and if it doesn't gel I will take it to Hornsby Nissan and get them to check it out. I want to go and meet the guys and let them know they'll have a new customer for all things nissan (i've still got to get around to getting a new rear sunroof rubber fitted, it's on the back burner for now tho!).

Once again, thanks for the assitance. Even if it doesn't help me on this occasion it's in the thread now so other's might find it if they have airbag issues.

Further to my last email I did end up going for a quick drive afterall, and I tried the suggested method and the light has now gone out.

However, if there is an issue that needs my attention I'm sure it will come back on, that being the case I will go and get Hornsby Nissan to check it out a bit further.

Thanks again :D

need a tool attached to it for a proper idea. common thing is the seat tensioners. also bea in mind that the controller used in those was the same as the local 350z and 02/03 versions had issues with the controllers.

Guys,

My airbag light was flashing and I found the solution on the net and it worked first go on my M35.

Turn the ignition to the "on" position. Watch the airbag light closely(it will be on solid) the split second it goes off(beggining to flash) turn the ignition off, count to 5. Turn back to "on" position and do the same another 2 times.

Next time you turn it to "on" position it will blink really slowly(diagnosing) Then switch off. Next time you turn it on it will be solid and then turn off completely.

    • ...just a note of warning, you shouldn't drive it about with the TCU in limp mode with only 3rd gear available ~ apart from the fact you end up sheering the ATF at the torque converter interface, the high clutch in these isn't especially the strongest, particularly bolted to the RB25DE mill...which is likely a 4AX01 box with lighter duty high clutch (the RB25DET got the bigger high clutch)...be careful out there...
    • Hoping to do similar mods to my RB20 once I get it running and reliable again
    • As you're looking at using a Link ECU, then large injectors are not a problem. But there's not really any need to go 1000s on an RB20 unless you're planning >>600HP on E85, which would seem unlikely. There are other options for injectors. The Xspurt ones are available from a number of places and you can get them in the mid 600s and 725cc, which is probably a sensible place to be. These are all EV14 based. If you are not using the stock AFM (at all, which would be the case with a Link) then a large turbo intake pipe to suit the ATR turbos is not an obstacle, so you should use one instead of a highflow. Results will be better.
    • Hey guys,  I'm after some advice and this here is the best place to get it imo. I was a member a looong time ago under another account, with a lost email address. Its nice to jump back on and see some of the same names still giving good advice.  I mothballed my car when i moved to perth in 2013, and after getting towed across the nullabor a few times it has officially done more km's on a trailer than under its own power. Now that i have started the process of tidying up and modifying it, i see the fruit available (and the fruiterers selling the produce) is different than back in the day. hence my questions, as i used to 'know' what to get and now, i'm not so sure. Engine wise the car (92 gtst) has a walbro 255, k+n, fmic, cam gears and and turbo back 3"exhaust. Wish list is a Hypergear high flow or ATR43G1, Link G4x and some newer injectors before a tune up. My goals are modest, only low 200's power wise. i know i could achieve this with less, but i've been swapping out old for new where i can. Every cooling hose has been replaced, along with mani gaskets, WP, thermostat and radiator, fuel pump and timing belt, tensioner and idler, and i rebuilt the steering rack. Regarding the injectors, the fruiterers all seem to sell what used to be considered quite large injectors. There are a lot of options for bosch 1000cc EV14's, and i would like to know if that is a suitable choice for my build. Is modern injector design good enough to run these at the low duty cycles that i likely would be? is there a downside to running a too large injector these days? or, would there be an upside to running a smaller injector at higher duty cycle? I can see that there are smaller injectors still available, but the ones i have seen specifically marketed for RB's are pretty large (see: https://golebysparts.au/collections/fuel-rail-injector-kits/products/nissan-rb20-fuel-rail-bosch-980cc-1150cc-injectors-turbosmart-fpr800-regulator-kit), and i dont know enough about them to say one not marketed for RB's would fit or not. I have searched the forums, and amongst all the posts on older tech, I did see gtsboy recommend EV14's, but no size was mentioned... again, i'm not clear on if the smaller size bosch injectors are also EV14's as they do look similar.  also, if someone can recommend a tuner familiar with RB's in the Geelong or West Melbourne area i'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance guys. Cheers, Rowdy
