hey, had a search and havent found anything, but to the point, im looking for an injector upgrade up to 600cc. considered getting the usual nismo's or sard's but wondering what were the pro's and con's of getting the stocko's highflowed? it will be for an RB25DET series 1 which i believe are to be low impedence.

ive heard that by highflowing (read: drilling out) injectors may cause the spray pattern to be uneven, therefor altering its efficiency. have also heard of a company called deutchworks (or something alike of that name) which seem to have an alright name over in the UK.....

problem: $$$ (dont we all?)

up side: have some $ , not alot, chasing to support 300rwkw, new, 2nd handies....swaps?...

in need of opinions and some light shon in the right direction :D

well I've done a lot of reading up on hi flows. A lot of people hate them, and some people blame them for blown motors, as where some guys love them.

to keep it short, i think they are a good option if you are on a budget, but do get them from deutchworks or someone reputable. RacePace in melb modify them, and have had great success with them. and they flow test them in house.

as i said some love them some hate them, im not going into atomization etc.

sometimes they idle a bit doggy. but its the price you pay for not going all out.

One thing i will say, buying second hand injectors all together doesnt work out so cheap. seen many guys caught out, and i have been too.

if you pay 600 odd dallars for a set of 6. keep in mind the average price to clean/bath and flow test and check for seized/leaking injectors is going to be 150 - 200 dollars. then, stick 25 bux on that for new top and lower o-rings and your up around $800. and if you are unlucky and get landed with a dud...... [end of the world x10, almost as bad as coming home to find you dont actually have beer in the fridge on that uber hot day]

a set of new sard 850's are arond 920 - 930 with collars and plugs.

if you can get a set that are good for a resonabable price, great. if not Sard 850cc items are IMO the best option.

cheers

850's aye?....well i was considering going for nismo 740's but tunerhas told me get something more suited to my power goal seeing as im not looking to upgrade that anymore from what i have. only need injectors cos ive maxed mine out and will be running a new tune with my next ECU which ive already purchased

I think they're worth looking into.. I'm getting 740cc high flowed injectors and the place where my tuner/mechanic is getting them from flow tests and electronically analysis the spray pattern before they get sent out again... .and the spray pattern can be altered to suit.

I guess just like anything else, it'll depend on where you get it done.

Liz.

yea wherever i get the job done i'll make sure it comes with a flow test and spray pattern equivalent between each injector. if Dirtgarage does them at a good price for a good job then that would be awesome! group buy anyone? lol i was going to get Micks Motorsports to do it for me seeing as he is onlyt 10mins away from home :D

where are you getting the job done at Liz?

same, but still worried about getting a dud set, and id probs still get them flow tested.....my quote was only $500 :S ....worthwhile? not sure if he does flow testing either but i'll find out

mine are highflowed, have been for 2yrs now, done 30,000kms or more, makes 250kw and only cost me $120 to highflow them....and they are around the 800cc mark, do 16ltr/100 round town and 10ltr/100 on highway running a link.. cant complain anyway.

My melb mechanic is arranging it for me so I'm not sure where he's going. Sorry!

Drop me a pm if you'd really like to know more details!

Mate of mine got his hi flowed to 620, theyre now in my car. Watched the process of how theyre done, cleaned then flow tested. In seeing it done it gives me plenty more confidence in the process. Also while we were there he flow tested a set of sard 550's that a customer had brought in. One of them was out by nearly 10%. Said that sort of thing is actually not that uncommon. So i guess its all up to the luck of the draw sadly...interesting but.

I wouldnt mind knowing that as well, i got a cheap set of injectors for 200 or 250 cant remember was told there 650cc items, took them to trent at status and he said there deutch works hi flows, want to get them cleaned an tested before i put them back in, will post up results when i have had it done, still looking for some were to do it.

You could always get S15 440's and just increase the base pressure to get you what you need.

300rwkw will be achiveable with a FPR & 440's.

GTR injectors are 440's and ive been told i could either keep my injectors for 300rwkw, and increase the fuel.

Or put injectors in... being i have injectors i think ill just use em.

Also RB25 370's can get to around 240-250rwkw safely with a FPR + base pressure bump :P

I see no reason the 440's couldnt make the distance

If you can get away with only upping the base pressure by a few PSI (you'll have to see how you go), you should be right.

Although you just wont have any room left what so ever where the 600cc's you'll still have a bit if you wanted it.

Its not the best method, but certainly the cheapest and will work.

Then if your worried about the cost of injectors i wouldnt be chasing 300rwkw and expecting it to last, which will give you a nice rebuild bill eventually.

Not many stock RB25's have seen 300rwkw for 3-5 years and lived to tell the tale :ermm:

    • Starting with issues 1 - 5, we have already run into a problem...!  Issue #4 contained 2x front brake calipers, instead of 1 caliper and 1x steering knuckle. Will have to call DeAgostini on Monday to sort it out. Anyway here's some photos.  Issue #1 is the front bumper, headlights and number plate. Issue #2 is the front wheel (with "We produced with spartan air." text on the centre cap!) and tyre, the front lip spoiler and cylinder head cover with ignition coils under the centre cover... which will never be seen again. Issue #3 is the bonnet and cylinder head. Issue #4 is the front strut, brake disc (with laser etched metal discs) and brake caliper. I stopped here because of the issue with the missing steering knuckle.  Next update will be #5 - #10 in a few weeks.
    • DeAgostini is one of a few companies that release quite large (the largest commonly available size actually) 1/8 scale models in a series of weekly issues over 100 - 110 instalments.  They release different models for different markets and DeAgostini Japan have release the BNR32 Skyline GT-R Nismo last month. I've made two of these 1/8 scale sized cars (one an R35 GT-R from 2012 - 2014, the other I'm just about halfway through, a BNR34 Skyline GT-R from the 2Fast 2Furious movie) so when this R32 was announced there was no way I could ignore it as it's my favourite out of all Nissans.  Each issue costs around $20 so it costs about $2.2K when completed. I suppose it is very expensive for what it is, but the quality and details are really very good, and there are many "gimmicks" like fully functioning exterior and interior lights operated with a remote control, working steering, all doors/bonnet/boot/fuel lid open and close, the side mirrors fold in and it even has a speaker for the engine revving sounds when you turn the lights on.  Each issue comes with a magazine that tells the story of the BNR32 Skyline GT-R Nismo from the first design stages of the BNR32 to Group A homologation and the various racing version that were run in the Japanese Group A and JGTC, and Australian Group A.  So I plan to update the build in this thread 5 issues at a time.  https://deagostini.jp/r32/?srsltid=AfmBOooKjxDc4EUK2rmXqMBPgyHfFJ24s4oEPJBNpnF-lFlsRoW0PE6P
    • As per title.. has anyone used so far? Keen to hear results, comparisons. In the market for a new mani for my new turbo. Any issues cracking?
