I think you can by those butterfly valve type silencers through perfect run for about $300. They are cable operatred from the cabin and are mounted between the cat and cat back pipe. noise level is controlled by closing and opening the butterfly via the in cabin cable.

noise control and also power control are operated via the valve. if you go shutting off the exhaust your car will become very sluggish. but that is certainly something to look into

yeah you'll loose power but how much power do you want when being tested by the epa?

my dads GTO had that standard (the button in the cabin which changed the exhaust noise and power etc).... dont think it makes a huge difference tho compared to these aftermarket ones.
