After having a look at Ashneel's link, I suggest everyone take due care in what they proceed to type in this part of the forum.

This goes for you Luckiee and anyone else replying.

Awww Eug..... But but but....

seriously, this is probably your first car, so i guess i can understand that you want to be able to do burnouts, we have probably all been there at some stage of our life, and alot of us probably still do them.

word of advice, practice.... once you get it skidding a bit you will get more confidence and get better at it. dont compare your 2.5l against a commadore for wheel spins, you loose, but if you want to do it, practice and you will get there.

You will also get new wheels, brakes, gearboxes, rims (from gutter rash) and the list goes on and on... bare that all in mind when your having fun

what is the actual purpose of having to want to do a burnout?

why be so god damn stupid? im sorry but i just dont see the need to do a burnout.......but thats me maybe its because i cant justify wasting my 800 set of rear tyres on doing a burnout - let alone the amount of load the car is out under when doing a burnout.

why try to prove something like that? so u can be in the "in club" to look cool???

like i said maybe its me, but i really dont see the need for it. have i done a burnout in my car...no....has someone else....yes.......but once and once only is enough for my little car.......i dont want to put her under that sort of pressure again.

i dunno maybe people should respect their cars a bit more instead of trying to be heros and do burnouts and shizz......

my 2 cents

peace out.

question: how does using the gears on an auto gearbox cause less stress??? if only you would be cause stress being auto your holding the revs out computer wants to change to the next gear but your preventing it. eventually your box will get really sloppy and you will kill it

I'd wager most of us love doing a burn out, just for the sake of it too (from time to time). As far as where it is done, if you do it on the road (and get caught) more fool you. As we all know it is illegal and quite possibly dangerous too. As for stress on the car, sure it will stress it. But so will drag racing (on the strip) and so will circuit racing (on the circuit). Every time I go to the track I break something. It's what happens. That's what a lot of our cars are for. The real question is why would you (one) come onto this forum and say silly things, then have a big tantrum when everybody (understandably) gets stuck in. Such a big tanty in fact that it way as well have been a hand delivered invitation to get stuck in. I say due respect was shown to him. Gawd bless him.

i agree Cara, most people just do it once to get it out of their system. Other than that the only 'logical' reason I can see is to warm up those tyres prior to launching.

and i think that is a logical reason for it........the only proper reason for doing a burnout realistically is that i saw no other need for it.

but if u want to get it out of ur system then go and do it on the track or at a drag meet - do it legally

ok so your not interested un hooning yet your trying to rip it up on the streets

ummmm

ok what you can try is this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fl...ar-t254132.html if you keep flat sticking it will eventually rip up.....you gearbox lol

I'm glad somebody spotted it... You're still here mate? Didn't get the answer you were after? Feel free to lose your license and/or confiscated Nissan, our roads are safer without you :P

just a little off topic but say someone was doing something illegal and someone else videotaped this someone on a mobile phone and the first someone got the second someone to send it to him and now the first someone wants to get the video tape off his mobile and onto the computer?

the someone cant just transfer it for some reason and it only comes out as noise on the someones computer. anyone know a program that someone could download of the internet to convert someones moblile phone videos onto the computer.

cheers (someone)

kinda embarassing driving a skyline that can't rip up

Isn't it "kinda embarrassing" driving a non-turbo R33 anyway? Not quite as embarrassing as driving a Skyline with a slusho, but its still not something to go bragging about.

That's a very slippery slope you're yelling down. The very same thing could be said about people tarting up entry model cars as show ponies and dyno queens, when the money spent could have been put into buying a good car to begin with.

To the OP, when I find that traction is not high on my priority lists I tend to use a bit of this on the tread face.

Unlike diesel or other lubricants, getting caught by the cops spraying this stuff onto your tyres isn't as plainly illegal....not that you'd be doing such a thing on a public road. It also scrubs off pretty quickly too, so after you engage in your drag strip warm-ups and go home it should return the tyre to normal.

You just need to try a different media player. I forget which one usually works. Should come preloaded on your machine.

Simple google search would turn up your answer.

^^^ vlc player?

Can't rip it up ?

Try scissors, you'll be able to cut your licence in half with little effort.

Stall it up mut.... then she'll rip :D

don't know why people think non turbo skylines are so slow, obviously the turbos are faster.. but for a P plate friendly car there quite zippy, i beat all the other usual p plater cars easy with mine (fords commos etc) only other decent cars are the light weight worked VTECs lol.

P.S on the track ofcourse.

Does pretty much everything, and it's free, no catches. Been using it for quite some time now.

my car is a good car and has been from the start thank you very much.

Haha, gotta love it. everyones like "umm what your doding is illeagal, but try this. should help"

fact is. your in an auto skyline man, its just not built to do stand stills, if you were drifting it would be a difforent story but even then your in an auto which is no good for drifting anyway. Your using the wrong car for the application.

that said, its a matter of factors ie. too much grip, the car is fairly heavy compaired to the power, and it really doesnt help that you dont have a clutch.

Panda.

That's a matter of perspective, which is my point.

After all, that's what hardparking Civic drivers say about their rides too.
