Adam you should be used to the area as your gf lived in donvale right next door. I found that ringwood is better (but not that much more) than nunawading. Was so bad for me living in that area surrounded by warrandyte, doncaster, ringwood and nunawading which all have cops that love to pull over and defect imports.

I havent had any trouble at all sinse i moved lol (touch wood). I found ringwood was only really a problem when your driving round after midnight. Usually ok before that and during the day.

Very nice looking dog too. Good luck with the whole move..

PS my ex used to live in bayswater and its not that bad compared to springvale lol

Ypu honestly think the nagging will stop when you move out....nope the nagging baton is passed to your gf from your mum....enjoy!

haha, no I never planned on it stopping, but basiclly my gf was never allowed over at mine due to my mum, made things really difficult... and Bentleigh to Donvale isnt a stone through away driving to every day/second day. So seemed like a logical move.

Yeh, I know I should be, but this is like border ringwood-ringwood east, which I had ventured too much, I know the Nuna/Mitcham/Donvale area pretty well... I also already know that cops arent supurb(thanks for the heads up anyway)... all my defects and most fines have been on maroondah hwy.... driving back from my gf's at night.

I am a little concerned about alot of people telling me to look out for ringwood at midnight onwards... dont like that too much, but is it the drugies/rats or gangs/violence or all of the above?

Well my advice is.....Dont do it, stay at home as long as you can, in fact remain there rooted to the spot forever. Nagging is a small price to pay. Shit just gets done at home, once out of that shit has to be done by you. No fun!

Unless of course you have a few million spare whereby you can buy a place and someone to cook, clean, garden and do your washing as well. If that last part is at all close, where are you moving to, and do you want a boarder? hahaha.

wise words!

All of the above and the 3 or so clubs dont really help with that so they are always doing their patrols. But if they have nothing to do and see a skyline drive past they will do a u-bolt quick smart and be up your ass in 2 seconds.

As long as your not doing anything wrong and your cars pretty clean looking and not too defectable you should be right.

One of the times i got defected in ringwood, they tried to get me for wiring in engine bay not being tied every 30cm and my tyres having no load rating (which they did). And my ride hight because left side of the car was in the gutter so the exhaust was a lot closer to the road so they made me move it into a flat carpark.

Excellent post.

If you think your mum and dad nag, wait till you start picking up after your GF her dirty socks and undies... and the dog crap...

Seriously, you dont know how easy youve got at home... you are only 20... stay at home till your folks boot you...

Your current priority should be finishing uni/trade and getting a real job. Then buying a house and renting it out... then once you have more money you can do as you please.

Indepedence is a small price to pay for what you will be missing out on if you move out.

Your GF is also only young and will not be looking after you unlike your mum and dad.

Also be prepared to be broke a lot more often especially when the rent increases.

Yeah look I've lived in Boronia my whole life and I always feel safe walking the streets, I mean I was running at 11pm last night. It's not that bad of an area. I'd sure feel safer our here than the Northern or Western suburbs or Springvale for the matter.

Lol, I get what you mean with white Springvale, Bayswater is sure that way though the Asians and Indians are slowing moving in which is fine

I think any area you live in always has "undesirables". I see junkies in the most expensive of suburbs and it sure beats living in the city with no parking, no garden, no room and a shoebox of a apartment convincing yourself you're "living the life" simply because you're walking distance from that bar, nightclub or yuppie café.

hey! i resent that remark, i may have a small place with one bedroom, no garage, no garden and about the same floor plan as a sardine can but at least i can walk to acland street and trend it up and walk to the beach and sneak glances at half naked ladies

I guess i enjoy it so much coz im from a small-ish town, so maybe in 12 months it will wear off.

My gf doesnt nag at all, i just give her a taste of the back of my hand if she does
