Hi All,

My car currently has the AVO Stealth Front mount that uses the standard pipes (came with my car when i bought it). The cooler is 295x460x90mm Core. More info below but nothing on how much power it can flow.

I have an R33 S2, am upgrading my turbo soon, should be looking at 260-270rwkw.

Will this intercooler be big enough? Will the stock piping be ok?

Thanks :)

Pretty sure they measure them by how much boost they can take not by how much power.. Obviously you will want to make sure it can flow the air too but it will be plenty big enough piping for that air flow. If my cheap shit chinese core can take 35psi or something round there then your one will take enough boost to make 270 easy.

Some one correct me if im wrong though..

Good luck

AVO make some very high quality stuff mate..

that cooler will be plenty for your power requirements.

the other things is this.

the usual ebay coolers are 600 x 300 x 75

If you calculate the volume within each cooler, there is not that much difference..

And the avo cooler is going to have a much better designed core.

yeah mate, the cooler came with the car, but someone definately forked out the big bucks to pay for it. I looked to see how much they are, and they are around 3 times the price of some basic coolers.

PLus its black and no one can see it unless they are right next to it.

Thanks for the tips dude.

bit of useless information (well i found it interesting) the PWR intercoolers flow approx 30% better than the Hybrid branded intercooler... and when i say FLOW I'm referring to the air flow which cools the air going into the plenum and not the air going inside the intercooler.

even if this figure is made up by pwr fanboys, what would be the reason for the difference? ie. what are the factors about the core which affects this and what could i look for without just letting somone make up a figure?

Liz.

Its a game between the flow to cool, and the flow to the motor.

Each core design is different and some flow more past the fins and cool better

Some flow more to the motor and cool less

Its finding a core that is the best between the two that matters.

If you measured inlet temps with both those coolers, that would have been perfect to decide :)
