For the price it wouldn't be I guess just to chase 15-20kw..Probably wouldn't even notice it. Will find other ways for further response

do u have a build thread on your setup as I'm keen to learn more about -9s?

What are u making with these snails?

^Have a friend running GT-SS at 310rwkw @ 18psi (RPM dyno) approx 90-92% inj duty cycle he said. Car has been tracked many times. Fuel system and AFMs are stock.

I have the tendency to go down the same route - retain stock fuel system and AFMs

But I'm concerned about the high injector duty cycle as my car unlike his will see some street and hills use with different temperatures and varying loads.

I also have -9, RPM cam gears, stock dumps, Mine's front pipe, 3" test pipe, 3.5" Tomei Ti catback and PFC.

So all in all, is 90% injector duty considered safe? Accounting for any spikes that may occur.

I know my friend's car is a pretty good example of it's reliability at that level, but would just like some opinions with other guys running -9's who run the car on the street and track as well.

Well what captured my attention is 350kw from -9s...what does it take in terms of boost level and supporting mods to get to this number on 98 as I don't want to run e85?

Hi Nick (levinboy) - what power are u making with your setup?

I'm making 350kw on 98 pump

Full boost at 3800rpm lower depending on weather, 22psi

Built engine still 2.6

Id1000s, Nismo fuel pump

I'd say, once again, attention to detail on the setup is where the better results are. Big, size matched exhausts blah blah.

Got a sheet Nick?

I run -7's with a shitty exhaust and stock afm's. With id1000's and a walbro 400 fuel pump I make 325kw on 20psi with E85. If I fix my exhaust and chuck some bigger afm's on I'd probably crack 350kw.

It'd be much easier to do it with -9's and I don't think there would be much more lag involved.

paul - u should overlay your graph with nicks, i wonder what the difference would be in response & what revs u have full boost

Here is dyno sheet

Tuned for response, hence the drop up top and my cat mainly being restrictive

Will be retuning it soon with new cat soon :)

    • I reckon you are 100% right on the money. The only reason I bought Red Sport instead of the base VR30 is that I am investigating racing it in Production Cars, and they require you to run a (mostly) standard car....therefore knowing exactly what was in the RS spec was important to me and I paid the extra. Other than that, for sure I would have pocketed the $10k and spent them on mods instead. Plus the non-RS models are more likely to have had a nicer life prior. Just a warning though, mods always cost twice as much as they look like they will on paper BTW you should also consider the 400R imports, they are about the same price as a local RS but 5+ years newer. Of course that comes with the usual warnings about finding parts, unhelpful nissan dealers and finding insurance
    • Not necessarily boring. Do you have pics? And have you thought of just buying a new plate amp for your sub? Those sw units look very similar to svs units.
    • As I'm sure you can tell by my set up, it's also a HT cross over. And while the Speakers are fantastic without a sub, it does help with HT duties. Probably need a better quality sub for musical duties to get cleaner bass. Odd that your receiver cuts out. Is it only rated for 8ohm? There are a lot of speakers that are below that. Look at onkyo receivers. Had one connected to the concept series(black speakers) and is rsted for 6ohm. New speakers are 4ohm with dips to 3, so needed to update.
    • Sorry for not replying sooner, I wanted the time to read the post details properly, rather than just skimming them.
    • Pretty cool. Are you also a pen enthusiast?  Mb also do a naruto collaboration now, for all the fans of the anime that have the urge. Also, pm sent.
