Hmm maybe if I go -9's from N1's I can get my 400kw :)

For the price it wouldn't be I guess just to chase 15-20kw..Probably wouldn't even notice it. Will find other ways for further response

HKS V-Cam 2.8 :D

do u have a build thread on your setup as I'm keen to learn more about -9s?

What are u making with these snails?

^Have a friend running GT-SS at 310rwkw @ 18psi (RPM dyno) approx 90-92% inj duty cycle he said. Car has been tracked many times. Fuel system and AFMs are stock.

I have the tendency to go down the same route - retain stock fuel system and AFMs

But I'm concerned about the high injector duty cycle as my car unlike his will see some street and hills use with different temperatures and varying loads.

I also have -9, RPM cam gears, stock dumps, Mine's front pipe, 3" test pipe, 3.5" Tomei Ti catback and PFC.

So all in all, is 90% injector duty considered safe? Accounting for any spikes that may occur.

I know my friend's car is a pretty good example of it's reliability at that level, but would just like some opinions with other guys running -9's who run the car on the street and track as well.

Well what captured my attention is 350kw from -9s...what does it take in terms of boost level and supporting mods to get to this number on 98 as I don't want to run e85?

Hi Nick (levinboy) - what power are u making with your setup?

Hi Nick (levinboy) - what power are u making with your setup?

I'm making 350kw on 98 pump

Full boost at 3800rpm lower depending on weather, 22psi

Built engine still 2.6

Id1000s, Nismo fuel pump

im spinning out - great numbers there on 22psi :)

pm sent

I'd say, once again, attention to detail on the setup is where the better results are. Big, size matched exhausts blah blah.

Got a sheet Nick?

I run -7's with a shitty exhaust and stock afm's. With id1000's and a walbro 400 fuel pump I make 325kw on 20psi with E85. If I fix my exhaust and chuck some bigger afm's on I'd probably crack 350kw.

It'd be much easier to do it with -9's and I don't think there would be much more lag involved.

paul - u should overlay your graph with nicks, i wonder what the difference would be in response & what revs u have full boost

Here is dyno sheet

Tuned for response, hence the drop up top and my cat mainly being restrictive

Will be retuning it soon with new cat soon :)

Ill have a play tonight. Need a calculator and a graph to doodle on.

Fkn speed. Put it in RPM farken!

    • I vote go red. Only because I hate keeping gloss black clean. Was no worries helping out either! Glad you've survived the rain outs of QLD
    • I would again like too thank Matt for his help in me sourcing the detachable hard top for the little red car, without Matt's assistance in inspecting it and locking it down, I can guarantee it would have sold before I could get up to see it,  and as that was the only available NC hardtop in Australia, I consider myself extremely lucky on multiple levels To say I'm more that happy would be an understatement And, it is 100% water tight, I drove through torrential rain coming back south, and by torrential, they type of rain that doing 40kph in a 110kph zone was a real thing, and even then, the standing water on the Hwy was deep enough to throw waves I'm also more than happy that the huge "BEASTS" that Matt calls dogs didn't eat me for lunch, I'm sure the sniffs and licks were more to "taste test" me, over being to friendly Now to work out what colour to get it painted, panel match, or gloss black........first world problems are real
    • Actually I might have figured out. Looks like there is a tab according to google images but it's hidden. Silly me.
    • No clips on this one like the other connector. Only that red tab that I can push slightly up.
    • For any loom connector that has an obvious release that resists pushing far enough to unclip, just spray some silicone lube into it. You might also benefit from using a bent screwdriver or small pick to push in the right place at the right angle.
