Hicas Light Flashes On Sometimes

previous owner says that there is no oil in the hicas? never dealt with nissans and hicas before so not sure what this means.

hicas light flashes on the dash sometimes, not all the time.

whats the deal here?

does your hicas actually work? how can you tell if its working? is the flashing mean that its steering from the rear?

What model is your skyline?

If it's R32, check power steering fluid, if it's full and doing it, do a diagonstic check and go from there.

If it's R33, check wheel alignment or do a diagonstic check cos it could be speedometer cable or some sensors.

If it's R34, refer to R33.

car is a r32 with a r34 rb25de engine

the car passed a warrant (government land safety transport check thing) 5 days ago so i think all fluids were checked, but i will look again when i get the car tonight.

Flickering probably means the power steering fluid is low, if it comes on and stays on then it's probably gone into fault mode. If that's the case, run diagnostics and address any errors.

OR, rip it out and put a lockbar in there

was gonna maybe the steering wheel has been removed before and not lined up properly, that was the case on my bro inlaws r34, but his just stays on constantly, yeh put locker bar hehehe get rid of it

hasnt come on after i picked it up tonight. will keep an eye on it and check fluid in the morning when there is light
