Just wondering if anyone on here is playing in any of the ANZPT events this week at skycity. It's a big week of poker at skycity so even if your look to go there just for cash should be some good play there. I will be there on Monday for the Industrie game as i work in this industrie. Also thinking of playing the teams event or main event if I cash in the industrie game. Post up here if you will be heading down this week at some stage for one of the events or just for a cash game. Hope to meet some new people down there off here and some of the pro's as well.

and thats after they quadruple their prices.

im not even kidding, the 24/7 over the road makes an absolute f**king killing on cheap arse sunnies and caps during the big tournies.

LOL Damo

i didnt think the cas would allow hats etc would they Dave?

6 months ago we wouldnt *normally* allow hats and sun glasses at anything other than the poker tables. but then, we also had standards of entry back then.

that all being said though, youd be amazed what you can get away with at the tables. depends on a) who the dealer is, and b) if the inspector actually gives a fark...

all the CBD servo's will sell out of sunglasses and hats :(

  ;):D

Funny I should see this thread, my mate and I were talking about getting back into the local NPL games played up here in the hills the other day. I'm no good at it, but it's something to do ;)

NPL = Donkey City. No offense to regular NPL players No cash riding on it and it just becomes laughable. Give me real money game any day

Last year one of the top 5 SA NPL guys came to a 'mates' cash game. He lost the lot by nights end. Cash games have a greater skill component vs. tourney - increasing blinds force you into situations, cash you can sit back and decided your own fate (luck can still desert you at inopportune times though).

I've had a bit of a look at the ANZPT stuff on PS, but haven't taken things any further than that.

was his name nick?

i used to play heaps npl nppl also try apl and oz a few times, made a couple state finals but seem to play better when theres real money on the table!!

i have a poker table out the back i want to get repaired soon, then maybe we could organise a SAU poker night?

I work for NPL and i see it all. Donkey everywhere and the worse thing is that you see them at the cas and they think there all that when they win a $30 pot i love them sitting at my table at the cas easy money :P. Was down there today at the ANZPT both events today were maxed out great prize pools.

i gave up on the novelty poker league ages ago, gets boring pretty quick.

do you work at the cas?

that i do.

    • Re read everything that has been written about this in this thread.. Let us know if you're still confused.
    • This would be a new pump with new gears. I'm just unclear on whether it's a good idea to run more oil pump flow if you don't actually need said flow. Oil level is set a minute or so after shutting off a warm engine so wouldn't the high RPM oil level in the sump end up lower all things equal? Plan is OEM clearances, main concern in my mind is whether the OEM pump can keep up with the flow requirements of any additional oil coolers.
    • Don't do what I did, use a 300000km old housing with billet gears. The old pump probably was clearanced with saw dust, Edward Lee's special engine treatment sauce and a good odo wind back. I had oil pressure issues, then replaces pump with new housing, new billet gears and 2x track day later binned a motor due to other oil related issues due to a previous engine builder. Long story short, buy a M2 or 3 or 4 N55/S55/S58 and enjoy life.
    • Yeah. "New pump" does not have to mean "massive pump".
    • Well, can you still get an OEM pump, and by the time you're buying a Nismo/N1 etc, just buy another aftermarket pump. It's better to have the pump able to flow more if its needed, than for your pressure to drop off. At any point in time, you're replacing the oil pump in a rebuild. Aftermarket pumps are likely going to be a better economical choice, and they don't have any negatives, even if they can flow more.   Also, when you're saying "replace the pump gears" are you meaning leave a 25+ year old housing in the engine with unknown wear, and just put new gears in? As that sounds silly to me, especially if you do have that minute amount of wear, that means your new pump gears now have a little bit more clearance beside them, which means, whelp, you may not get to build a lot of oil pressure or make a lot of flow.
