mehow
http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21...00-2761,00.html Police should patrol people who actually do bad things, last night me and my mate were at Joondalup Maccas car park having a feed when some guy got a Tyre iron smashed my mates cars window and started hitting him for no reason..... GTS-t VSPEC
amid concerns that hoon driving had reached epidemic proportions My favourite bit of the article At the end of the day it's great if they get some bad drivers off the street, but I'd rather they targeted repeat offenders of theft, rape, murder etc Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255062-hoons-hit-list/#findComment-4400805 Share on other sites
Stealthed
"All these cars should be banned from our streets. they are all very noisy and dangours, get waken up in the middle of the night all the time they have no respect." I lol'd at that comment, because i have no respect hehe Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255062-hoons-hit-list/#findComment-4401006 Share on other sites
big col
or they have been reported to us by the hoon hotline *takes note of the plates of privately owned cop cars and calls hoon hotline to see if they get on the list* Really, using that amount of resources to literally catch a handful of hoons is a shameful misuse of the police force. They should be focusing on other top 5 lists of thieves, assault, rapists, etc and leaving the traffic cops alone to go about their daily duty of catching out people who shouldn't be on the road LIKE THEY ALREADY DO. MLCrisis
Thank heavens! That article brings a breath of fresh air into this whole debate. And the wonderful people who have added their comments ... ... ... .. I can rest easy in my bed knowing that they will shortly decide whether or not we keep daylight saving in our wonderful, go-ahead State. Hurrah for democracy. Davyboy
``We know where they live. In a lot of instances, we know where they work and even the routes they take to get to work." isnt that a waste of police resources and a big invasion of privacy? I dont know about anyone else but i wouldnt be to happy if i knew cops had been following me and know which way i go to work Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255062-hoons-hit-list/#findComment-4401781 Share on other sites
R34P3R
i dont see people complaining about dangerous drivers. always these hoon with their imports and loud exhausts. ive seen police not do anything about people going 110 on tonkin and they sat right on my ass while i was going 100 in the left lane. i dont know why they only class imports/sports cars as hoons. sat night i was on beaufort st[think its the spelling] and a car was turning and cars were parked in the left lane so i was stopped. i kept my foot on teh brake coz i saw a car coming from the left lane moved to teh right lane. it didnt showed any sign of stopping so i moved my car abit when i saw its headlight dip from braking so hard. he ended up next to me and if i didnt move that idiot in teh excel would have rear ended me and i had my lil sister and gf in the back. cmoney
"Police have impounded 3823 vehicles since anti-hoon legislation came into effect in September 2004" I would bet that every single 1 of these was either a modified jap import, or your typical modified holden/ford. Not 1 of them would have been the idiots who speed & cut people off in their standard shitboxes. Theyre also the 1s who sit an inch from your rear bumper, & have absolutely no hope of stopping if you jump on the breaks. But as their car is not modified, in the eyes of the police, they couldnt possibly be classified a "hoon". No matter how many times they get done for speeding, they dont get listed as serial offending hoons. They simply got caught again. Why not do us all a favour & impound their shitboxes so that we dont have to worry about their crazy shitboxes running into us when we're cruising to work?? NISMOGTT
http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/saf..._Stats_2007.pdf this is the annual stats..... more then 50% of deaths are 26-59 yrs of age for 2007 ie 434/796 but yet they say it is young people (17-25 yrs) which is less then half of this only 200 people.... so who is the real problem and this is their stats what is published.... there is also more deaths in both male and female of age group 40-59 and 26-39 then there is 17-25 also proven in this same document..... so once again who is the real hoon issue?? maybe these real stats should be published hey just my 10 cents and i could still come up with a lot more I wish they would post all stats to really wake up the population.... djr81
A couple of things: 1: Remember, it is always someone elses fault or atleast there is someone doing something worse than you. So don't feel any need to take responsibility for your own actions. Just point out something someone else is doing wrong. Got caught doing something stupid on the road? Easy just point out someone else speeding. Got a yellow sticker? Point at someone elses unroadworthy car. Remember kiddies your wrong doing is always diminished by someone elses. (If anyone missed it that was sarcasm...) 2: Cops need to dose up on more testosterone. "Certainly, apprehending hoons ad hoc is wonderful..." These are the same police who regularly confess they have no real idea how to reduce the road toll. This sort of stupidity is what happens when a public nuisance offense is dressed up as a road safety issue. I don't think tailgaiting is classed as driving like a hoon. Thus they should all have their cars confiscated/crushed/burnt because they can't drive!
