Peza
Hey guys before you tell me there is already a topic for insurance I know I read the whole thing it didnt help. What I was wondering is where NA people have gone for there skyline. Is it still classed as performance? Like the turbo ones? I'm on my P's so any quote I get is going to be pretty big for Compo. I was just wondering what kinda quotes other P platers had gotten and from where. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255133-na-insurance/ Share on other sites

MZBLTZ
I'm a green p plater without a clean driving record and I went with Just Car for my full comp. Definately the cheapest and the most suitable for myself. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255133-na-insurance/#findComment-4401554 Share on other sites
N-DAWG
Just Car. It's still classified as an import, so you pay around $1000 in vehicle excess in addition to other excesses. In Brisbane I found it to be couple hundred dollars less than a factory turbo skyline. Where are you trying to get it insured? My first year with JustCar based on bit over a year of being on my provisional licence, was $1581 for my N/A Skyline. About $1680 after doing suspension, wheels, stereo brakes etc.. then after 1s year with them it dropped to $1275. Now I think it's around $1350 a year after doing turbo conversion. I'm 22 as well for a couple of more months, so still under 25. $4k a year for insurance is just mental! I know that in Brisbane yeah it's cheaper, but even in NSW I don't think it gets that high... skyhighR33
well i think its cause i had lost my liscense on my l's when i had my motorbike. just cars said it will drop heaps this year when i insure it again with them, i wasn't pissed of with the price i just payed it, the 180 was worked and had top stuff in it. just ring around places mate but i will go with just cars they are honest and will look after you... G0DZLR
i pay 2160 per year with custom cars (GIO) in monthly installments of $198. at the time worked a bit better for me as i couldnt afford $2k up front in one hit which is what just cars wanted me to do. mind you at the time i was 17 and on my Ls and had just bought my car so i was broke hardcore . just car and custom cars were the only two i could find that would even bother considering me. will re-evaluate this year tho along with custom plates. aiming to keep my driving record as clean as possible to reduce my excess Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255133-na-insurance/#findComment-4403796 Share on other sites
r32_gts25
I got an online quote from just car for a 5000$ r32 and they want 2412$ a year for comprehensive. Is that right for 17? Cas if it is, theres no way thats worth it. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255133-na-insurance/#findComment-4403829 Share on other sites

Peza
My quote for JustCars was around the $2500 mark for an 18 yr old but I only just got my P's so thats why the quote is high. With JustCars they ask how long you've had your license for, now i'm assuming that means your P's as it's the first proper license? So how do you answer that question if your still on your L's? My sister wants to insure her car but is still on her L's. I think I might just spend the $500 and get Third Party F&T for now until my rating improves as I don't drive my car like a hoon and I *fingers crossed* won't do something to write off my car. And then once my rating improves i'll get compo and hopefully by then my car will look nicer too Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255133-na-insurance/#findComment-4405396 Share on other sites

THR34T
ive been registered with just car for 2 years now..Im 19 turning 20 this year and when i first got my quote for the 4 door 34 it was ridiculous.. they tried charging me more because it wasnt on there list that they can come in 4 door.. unfortunatly as much as they charge they beat any other insurer from who ive got quotes from. AAMI FULL COMP 3.5k...... YEAH GET F***ED and also yes its classed as a 'sports car' i tried saying mine was a japanese family car LOL Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255133-na-insurance/#findComment-4405443 Share on other sites
Peza
Yea i'm worried bout not having compo but in my opinion i'd be better off putting the 2.5k+ away into my bank account and save it for a rainy say rather than hand it over for "possibly" no reason to an insurance company. I know this is what your always gonna do insure "in case shit" but when it's 2.5k it seems kinda pointless... especially when the car is stock at the moment and not really hard to replace. casuarina26
I'm insured with Shannons and I pay by the month they were cheeper than Just Car and GIO, I then got a discoumt because I added my daily drive [94 Magna 3rd party]. Then the daughter got her car I just added it to my other 2, so in the end all 3 car are with shannons and it cost me $99/ month, The Skyline is full comp the others are 3rd party Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255133-na-insurance/#findComment-4406480 Share on other sites
MissR34
i got my r34 insured with shannons, originally had her with H2P here in adelaide but ended up having quite a few issues with them. but im happy with my policy and what the 34 is insured for...........at least i know with shannons everything is covered and not like my previous insurer where they could pick and choose what they wanted to pay out if anything happened.
