I've realised some people love the R34 GTR regardless of the new R35 GTR and its sexy lines.

I love the R34GTR but I think the R35GTR looks slightly better in my eyes!

Who's your favourite and why?

1. you realise well.

2. sexy lines....sexy times.

3. I fave both....a)..because the 34 has incredible performance and is affordable and realistic...b)..the 35 has brill tech, and can be found in many fantasy cartoons....oh..it also makes me firm-of-pant.

i just wana say that currently the R34 GT-R looks better in my eyes.....

but i personally think that it is something that will GROW on you.......

people are used to looking at the R34 GTR and now this new thing ......needs time to adapt.......

think about it this way...when the EVO 7 first came out........ how many people hated it and calling it "SHIT"

cause they were so used to looking at the EVO 5 & EVO 6....

now EVO 8 & 9 is a revised/facelift models of the 7 and is really, da bomb!.. very popular...theres no other car like it! (for a medium car, 4 door sedan anyway!)

as the 5 & 6 starts to look dated now in peoples eyes....

well as for the EVO 10.....how many people say "oh it looks crap......" or the famous...."oh i dont like the BACK of it..."

it will grow......

so the GTR R35 does look a bit funny in pics.....but in real life.....it does look amazing.....

you neva know.....they might even revive the looks in the comming series.

(just like the WRX 02...everyone thinks it looks like dogz ballz with the 'bug eyed' but the ones before the new model WRX was based on the bug eyed..and how good, do they look now)

IMO the R34 GTR is a better looking car.

Just a glance of the front of the R34 GTR can haunt you in your rear vison mirror.

Performance wise you can tune a R34 GTR to win over a R35 GTR and vicer versa, but thats with any car with the right performance mods and $$$.

But just the thought of owning a R35 GTR is awesome as from factory is compared to Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche Corvette.

I love BOTH cars.

An R34 have such a raw and powerful presence on the road, it overwhelms people including myself. Everytime I see another R34 GT-R on the street, it puts a big smile on my face. Very few cars can do that for me.

I still see an R34 having the classic shape. The R35 I see as a futuristic, science fiction type style and has yet to grace my palette, but i'm sure it will grow on me.

Agreed, from a pure driving past you, in your rear view mirror... the R34's road presence speaks louder then any words possible.

well thats because you had never, seen an R35 GT-R on the road

trust me....the R35 GTR is as much of a road presence as an 2009 AUDI R8...

and for something that is currently COSTING 140,000$ - 190,000$ AUD imported.... & 3.2sec = 0 - 100km/h, 11.2 sec = Quater mile................im sure as SHIT that the "Presence" is there....

Well i really like the new GTR but for me it isn't a Skyline anymore because of the whole design and especially the engine.

I knew that Nissan couldn't put the 20 year old RB26 in their latest model this is the way of development. But for my own opinion it's a whole new car, not just a facelift like from a Audi A4 or something.

I hope you guys know what i mean ;)

r34

the r35 is all good and well, new age, new product etc... but from a pure driving point of view Nissan failed in

1. the size of the car... no matter how you look at it, its a whale

2. the weight... yes electronics help it but reduce the size and weight and it becomes a much better car.

3. gearbox, hate the flappy pedal bullshit... clutch and floor shift all the way. it can shift as fast as it wants but precise clutch control will never be replaced.

well isnt that good?

i mean, doesnt it shit u with the people putting GT-R badges on thier GTS-Ts etc... and mock it up

this new one cant be mocked.....

apparently Nissan said that the car is no longer a "SKYLINE" because it does not share the same Chassis as the V35 or V36 Infinity/Skyline, where the previous skylines are based on the GTS-Ts etc

    • Factory LSD is supposedly a 2 way with a very conservative cam. If you've already tried adding friction modifier to the diff oil and it still locks up too much for your liking you might want to adjust the ramp rate on the cam to be more like OEM instead of reducing initial torque even further. People claim the 8 kgf-m disc kit for the OEM LSD is still very streetable but I've never been able to compare everything side by side on my own.
    • Oh man, at least it sounds they've accepted they stuffed up and not put it back on you...could see some confusion if they asked if it had a hardtop or not, and you've answered truthfully but maybe not answering their real question which is what roof did it have from the factory! Glad your keeping it N/A 2.5
    • Nah, I much prefer colour matched Talking about colour matching stuff, the new/used boot lid turned up, all painted up perfectly......aaaannnndddd, it's for a power retractable hard top, not a soft top.....LOL They are now sending a boot to fit a soft top.....,  whilst frustrating, life is like that sometimes, sometimes you just need to dodge, duck, dip, dive and, ummm, dodge.
    • You would need to paint your hardtop again though
    • I have an old R32 in the shed that hasnt moved much in the last few years and probably should see the light of day. At one point I had a Nismo 1.5 centre put in the rear diff. It is a clunky nightmare POS of a thing on a good day. To make it less painful the initial torque setting has been put on the minimum (7.0kgf-m, mid is 9.5, high is 14) and the oil changed out to something more slippery. But it is still awful and ruins the vibe of the thing. So my questions are: Given I have the original parts sitting in a box somewhere would it be better to rebuild the thing again, reverting to more purity? Is there a standard kit or do you just go and replace the friction plates etc and shim it the way you like it. How much initial torque does the standard R32 rear diff have? Or does the Nismo disc kit offer a better solution - the caveat being the initial torque for both options appears to be higher than the clunky 1.5 way. There appear to be two Nismo disc kits: 3843S-RS520 for 8kgf-m. 3843S-RS521 for 12kgf-m. Or is the easiest solution to reshim the Nismo diff to make it looser?
