Melb: Home Gym, Pool Table, Chairs, Mattress + Free Stuff!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I'm moving house and got some stuff to get rid of. Everything's fixed price cheap! Pickup from Mitcham in Melbourne only. PM me here or email me 88speed@gmail.com if you want anything. Items available after 7pm weeknights and most weekend afternoons.

1) Home gym/weights machine with about 120kg of weights, used a couple of times then I pulled a muscle and was advised not to use it anymore . $100 bargain! (bought for $400) - you'll need at least 2 people to disassemble and a wagon/4WD/ute/trailer to move it.

2) Ikea mattress (Sultan I think) queen sized. Used for 2 weeks for visiting guests then packed up again. Ideal for guest /spare bedroom. Paid about $200, take it away for $80. Four chairs, $20 the lot.

4) Pool table, pub size, wooden. Slightly uneven playing surface, comes with pool balls & cues. Good for your spare room, workshop, whatever. Has foldup legs. Pretty easy to transport with a station wagon/4WD or ute/trailer. Can't take a pic as it's covered with other boxes, but you know what a pool table looks like. $50 only!

5) Big wooden thing with removable shelves. Came with my house when I bought it, using it to hold old car magazines and stuff, good for shed/workshop/garage. $10! You'll need trailer/ute I think to move it.

6) Foam sofa, just needs some vacuuming. $20. 3" hosing, $10 for approx 3 metres (I have two 3m lengths available)

7) Shade sails - brand new! I have three beige square 3.6x3.6m shade sails and one rectangular dark green 2.5 x 2m shade sails. $15 each.

8) Tyres (off R33 GTR), jap spec Bridgestone RE50s, I think they were 235/45/17. Worn but still with some meat left on them! Use them for drift/track practice. $150 for all 4.

FREE STUFF (if you buy something above!)

Picnic table, foldout, broken handle but still folds out.

FREE STUFF!

Firewood - I've got about 3 trailerloads of well dried wood (aged at least 3 years) ideal for winter, unless you're not hot enough right now

Will update this post with more stuff that I uncover in the packing process!

Can't edit any earlier posts?

Anyway, the pool table, home gym, shade sails are gone.

Mattress still available. Only $80 for all four tyres now, not much tread on them but a few laps left! Just want them gone. They're actually not RE50s now I've had a closer look, they're Bridgestone Potenza RE01Rs, 17", 245/45.

    • I always find it both fascinating and educating seeing you go through all this. It's a bit like "BMWs are great. Except with one massive caveat: as long as you fix this two page long list of things where components are broken by design" Every now and then I consider getting a BMW. And then I read your posts and think that maybe the RB life is not so bad after all
    • For the record, I hate the colour. Even if I'll never see it again, I know its in there.
    • This is another issue I'm fixing. This little valve stops all the oil from draining to the sump when the engine is turned off. What happens eventually is that the engine is a little noisy and has the oil pressure light on for a few seconds after turning it on. Basically it takes a few seconds to build the pressure when all the oil has drained. This valve is a non serviceable part and is attached to the oil filter housing, BMW suggests to replace the entire housing if this valve fails.  As it turns out this valve can be removed and that means you can get an aftermarket replacement, which I did. The failure, for me at least is that the valve doesn't seat properly after a while, which I've demonstrated. The new one is a ball end and always seats properly.
    • Welp don't know if this is good but I can hear a sizzling sound in my battery Hope I didn't fry it. Turns out a bad battery in the multi meter will give a false reading (likely what happened when I said I had 15x volts), swapped the battery and monitoring now. I'm hoping that sizzling sound is just the equlisation charging
    • Yeah I'm happy to talk to whoever, I don't want to take ownership or even manage it if they don't want but I can probably help with hosting on the sau setup. It's a great resource and should be protected.
