hey all, i hav a s1 r33 and over the weekend i managed to crack the head gasket or head. My engine is showing low compression in a few of the cylinders so i am thinking of just getting a new engine, i kno someone that has a s2 engine for a good price so im wondering if i could use that instead?? Use all the s1 loom etc i hav a power fc so ecu shouldnt be a problem is ther any reason why it wont work?? Info would be appreciated cheers jarad

think u need the sII ecu but not 100% sure also think the loom would have to be modified..

done this to a mates car with no worries would recomend using series 2 ecu and air flow meter,i have a ecu if u want 1 and may even have the air flow meter to,car ran fine with series 1 but better with series 2,pfc will work fine on either engine

ok man, i would use the series 2 loom, coilpacks are different, so obviously this part of loom will have to be modded if you want series 2 engine, not sure if you canr un series 1 stuff on series 2 engine? like will all injectors and stuff plug in? some reason i dont think it will,

so series 2 loom, series 2 afm,

your cpu will be fine because its power fc, only difference between series 1 and 2 cpu is the fuel map is different i believe, but not to bigger deal,

hope this helps,

JV
