Running Hotter Plugs

hi all. I got some bcp5es's as i couldn get the 6's. Will running the 5's cause any issues?

Just to answer, maybe not in a stocker but yes detonation.

5's are the factory heat range for a 32 gtst.

7's is just silly unless you are running some decent boost and have a good tune. they will tend to foul a lot easier than a hotter plug.

I thought 6's were stock in a 32??

i have bigger turbo, cooler, cam gears, exhaust etc and tuned with all of that....

so im hoping these 7's will be ok... ill trial them... they are only coppers, not much lost if no good.

6's are stock gtr.

gtst rb20det got 5's. Not that i ever put anything other than 6's in mine as they were commonly available.the rb25 got 7's once the boost got above 17psi and the 6's were causing detonation

Ive just bought a set of 7's alot of people run them on rb25s these days to prevent detonation and get abit more power out of it. The 6's run fine I think according to the spark plug book they are fine but I get random detonation on hot days so hope to fix this.

I doubt fouling is an issue when you change them every 5000 km
