4 wheel steer

Does ne1 know if 4 wheel steer is the same as HICAS? And if its different is it something to avoid if possible neway?? Ive heard that HICAS is bad because it makes the car unpredictable which is bad especially if ur planning to drift. So does 4 wheel steer make the car unpredictable or have neother bad effects or does it just steer with 4 wheels?? Also forgive me for being naieve but do all skylines come with 4 wheel steer or was it just an option?? Thanx guys.:burnout:

Not all skylines have HICAS.

I dont think it would make the car unpredictable. The rear wheels on turn very little. I'm pretty sure silvias have HICAS and they are excellent drift cars.

im preety sure that later model 180sx's have HICAS too

My S13 Silvia has HICAS. It just improves the cars handling a bit, but has no effect if you want to drift. The amount the wheel turns is less than 2 degrees

HICAS is a factory option on 180's and Silvias, and standard on R32 and up Skylines.

hicas is 4ws . do a little search youll find more then enough info to satisfy your questions and more

doesnt hicas work only above a certain speed say 60-80ks?? i always thought it did.

I've got a 1993 R33 GTS25 and it doesn't have HICAS, cause i think back then it was an option, same goes to ABS.
