W0rp3D
Just wondering how many people have been defected for being too low and just raised there adjustable coil overs to clear it, has any one ever been knocked back on an rwc for having adjustable coil overs? RBLUV
it depends if you get a dodgy roadworthy or not technically adjustable suspension is illegal however some places will pass it and some wont Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255987-using-adjustable-coil-overs-for-rwc/#findComment-4413854 Share on other sites

(B1) MR_fanny
well if your too low your too low realy. most won't even make mention of it let alone know what coilovers are. whats annoying is being dicked for the lowest point of the car in my case my second exhaust pipe that runs under my diff. My ride height wouldnt even be considered "low"....arrrrh. i never knew why coilovers are illegal? can someone explain? whats the diff to them and say some aftermarket pedders shocks or billies? something to do with ADR approval? Put in the coil overs today and measured the height, the main low part is one of my mufflers plus the fact that there were 3 of us in the car, me on my own and with out that muffler and it would have passed. I got the modifying guide from the vic roads web site and nothing in there says there illegal so im guessing its just one of those many false rumours that people just believe as most mods these days are illegal in some way. adznight
They are 100% fine mate, I had my old 34 done about 3 times with them in and it passed each time. I was also pulled over and checked multiple time by Pettet and he didnt' say boo about them. Sandeep
depends what type of coilover you have, eg. tein flex are illegal because they have the extra adjustment at the bottom on the shock body, but tein super streets are fine because they don't have this adjustment. R31Nismoid
Ye they are fine I've raised and passed a couple of times, but then it was just a low point of my exhaust and a few mm just to ensure a perfect pass regardless Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255987-using-adjustable-coil-overs-for-rwc/#findComment-4417201 Share on other sites

R31Nismoid
sometimes you'll find its such a minor change yet less headaches/issues with RWC's/defects as some of the jap exhausts do hang quite low if you then count in lowered suspension Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/255987-using-adjustable-coil-overs-for-rwc/#findComment-4418637 Share on other sites
