Locking the boot?

Hi guys

Just wondering, how do I lock the boot so that u can't open it using the boot release level in the cabin? The only way to open it is via the boot key-hole.

There should be a little lever on the lock mechanism inside the boot (on the bootlid). Flicking this lever will prevent the remote release from opening it (they work a bit like a child safety lock on back doors of cars)

I recommend u dont do that... i done it and half way to melb. fixing my stereo in the back closed the boot with the keys in the boot lol... culdnt ring no one no reception.. had to bloody take whole back seat out n speakers on the shelf to bloody get inside the boot...

why do you want to do it? to secure your stereo?? Personally could not be arsed in using the key all the time

on the r33 it is on the lock not the bootlid, just open the little door in the plastic cover and flick the switch!!

It's on the lock mechanism that bolts to the inside of the bootlid. It should be pretty close to where the release cable attaches.

oops. Just read your response Craved:o . I haven't played around with an R33, so not sure. This is just going on some other cars I've had in teh past.

on the lock? there is a plastic doova thing there, try moving it and doesnt move - mebbe it is another thing with a plastic cover.... hrm

when you open the boot look down, you see the lock! move inside the boot and you see the plastic cover over where the lock is!! there should be a hole in it, pull on the hole and the littl;e door will open up, just inside is the switch, right near where the boot cable meets the lock!!
