3" Or 4" Exhaust On R33 Gts25t ?

I´m searching for a new catback system for my r33 gts25t spec 2. But I don´t know whats best of 3 and 4 inch systems ? How much power can the 3 inch system handle ?

Hmm I don´t realy know what to do with the car in future, Maybe I should buy a 3 inch system and if I go over 300rwkw buy a 4 inch ?

I'm looking to get rid of my 3" exhaust pretty soon, sounds pretty tough however 2 tuff (loud) for my liking. If ur in Melb I can show you how it sounds so u can judge for urself

4.5"?!?! are talking about an exhaust for your car or a drain pipe for your house...

I have a 3.5" system, it sits on the border virtually of legal.

Its all in the mufflers

i had a system on my 33 that went 3", 3.5", 4" then a 4.5" tip and it was legal.

Depends on the state - that would almost certainly struggle here unless it was a two big muffler setup?

it had a largish middle muffler, and a 4" inlet, 4.5" tip cannon on it, it was also very straight too (no gay angle mounted cannon), when the car got rear ended, the exhaust still stuck out due to no bends to kink on...

it was a few years ago when it was tested, but i think they tested it at 4,500rpm, and it passed.

it did get a bit louder higher up, but normal driving wasn't loud and droning at all.

i think i need a pair of mufflers on the 31.. picked it up today and it's rather loud.. 3" system with a fair few bends and cannon only.

motor doesn't change it much other than a lower test point.

i have a RB26 , slightly deeper and measured @ 5200rpm which is 400-500rpm more than a RB25, and lesser again for RB20/RB30 here in vic

my point ash was that he isn't going to get an off the shelf ~90db 4" system.

Some of the jap ones are actually very very quiet. Im unsure of the brands however.

Ive heard some that are only marginally louder than my custom one... being the only option for me is custom.

So you can certainly get some quiet ones, the two muffler setup ones
