thats pretty shitty news

isnt there security cameras in the parking complex there?!

did it go missing on the weekend?

There are security cameras their, but they don't cover the whole car park.

If she speeks to the Mall security and tells them where it was parked they should be able to tell her if it was covered by cameras, and if so they should go back through the footage.

The security manager was very helpfull when my line was stolen from their.

you had a car stolen from there? gee... im never going there again!!!

Yeah but I think I was very unlucky, I park their all the time, it's generally a very safe place to park.

Also I was lucky enough to find my car 3 days later.

i wouldve thought up there past the north shore wouldve been a great place... AKA "Gods Country"

but looks like its not.....

true.

at least the cars back though - i guess seats and stereo isnt as expensive as replacing a whole car.

way too much effort for seats and stereo though....why would they bother? seems a little bit strange..

i dont get it ..why risk a criminal conviction/jail time for something that you can buy for < $500 yourself ?? f**king scum.

under age minors, they steal sound sytem and seats coz they dont know how to dissmantle anything else, cant put any thing else in there current car (or future car), and their parents would not allow them to keep a stolen car at their place.... even if they got caught nothing will happen to them, our great justice sytem is the ultimate "FAILBOAT"

well maybe they didnt like the fact it was automatic and dumped it and probably thought at the time that they had to take something off the car now that theyve taken it.....

may as well be the stock rexy buckets and the aftermarket stereo.

i know what you mean though, stereo now days are just getting better and better....and dirt cheap.

i recall being the first ones to buy the Mp3 Pioneer decks...from memory it was around 399$ for the head unit. but now all manufactuers make Mp3 and cost next to NOTHING....

well sometimes i think secruity might even play part in some of these things and prolly get a cut out of it for watever.

a mate of mine had his 2001 WRX stolen at the carpark in Mounties...

the crooks somehow by passed the immobilizer as well as the alarm and the Satelite tracking.

the satelite tracking didnt even pick it up as being stolen.....

and end up finding the car wrapped around a pole a few Km away in the same suburb....

    • FWIW the depth of the groove in the rubber pad is not super essential, the blocks are rubber and squish a bit. If you are worried an angle grinder will make a deeper groove quick smart
    • I mean, if you were to move the jacking points away from the original location, that is, away from the wheels and closer to the centreline of the car, then it will be more likely to overbalance and tip off the supports. Same as we talked about before. I was talking about moving for-aft. If the sill is bent outward or inward, then the car would obviously look unstraight from the outside. Hopefully that hasn't happened either. Again, you can do comparative measurements from the chassis rails to see if there is much deflection.
    • Can you elaborate what you mean with your first sentence? I meant move as in the bulge kinda seemed like it got pulled "outward" meaning it got pulled down and to the side with the jacking rail itself, so the load bearing bulge now sits lower than usual and is not level with the sill on the other side of the jack point. Either that or the jacking rail just got pushed in a good bit.
    • As well as being risky WRT tipping off anyway. Yeah, I wouldn't expect it to move. Just measure from the rear one to the front one on the good side, then measure that same length on the wrecked side. You will find the notches in the pinchweld, and the jacking pad. Just spray a spot of marker paint or something there.
    • but any other area than the bulge you are talking about will just cave in then? The front driver side is pretty bent so I don't know if that will work the way it is now. I can still kinda make out where that bulge is/was but it looks like the position of it also changed due to all the mistreatment? Hard to tell
