Hi there

My brother has a R32 RB20, the car is in great running order, after spending 2 grand getting a big work over. I don't drive the car much

however I now love skylines and will be purchasing one asap. Anyways, he has Maxxis MA V1's fitted and they are only 3 months old, I

don't know much about Maxxis but judging from having driven it a few times in the wet, they seem very hard, and will induce a twitchy

rear end even with careful throttle application around a roundabout in 2nd gear (at low speeds) , even in 3rd gear get into the boost

and floor it and it will spin, for a car that is pushing I'm guessing around 130rwkw, this just does not seem right, I think its a tyre issue.

Does anyone have another opinion on these tyres? oh btw he has coil overs fitted and its pretty firm, perhaps this firmness could also

be contributing ?

Dan

It seems you're not the only one complaining about Maxxis tyres' wet weather performance.

I would suggest going to a decent tyre / suspension shop, detailing the issues you're having, and checking the alignment to make sure it's set up properly.

Does the car understeer a lot when turning in, before oversteering with the application of the throttle. If both ends lack grip then I'd be more inclined to suspect a tyre issue, unless your alignment happens to be f**ked on both ends.
