I have a 33 gtst, and as most do, the fuel level sender has come off its bracket in the tank.

before i made this thread i spent an hour up to my elbow in fuel, crouched in my trunk and another 30 minutes on this site reading all the threads on the subject.

they all say something to the affect of "it just slides onto the bracket next to the fuel pump"

ok well thats great. BUT, does it go horizontally, vertically, how is it orientated? keep in mind, this has to be all done by feel, you cant see inside your tank unless you toss a flashlight in there.

can someone draw up a quick paint diagram?

awesome. 14 views.

well, i managed to finish it myself, and in case anyone is wondering,

it sits to the right of the fuel pump on the front wall of the tank. it is canted at an angle with the bottom closest to the front of the car and the top slanted toward the trunk

there is a prong, about 2cm that sits horizontally, and points to the passenger side of the car. there is a hoop on one side of the fuel sender. that is the front. catch the hoop on the prong and slide it to the driver side of the car. you will feel a positive click when it is in place.

re-install, go drive your car down the road and hit a pot hole so it can fall off again, while your coilpacks are arcing causing a misfire.

terrific cars.
