Doesn't surprise me, Top Gear Australia has to be one of the worst Car shows going around. I don't think they could have picked three worse presenters if they tried.

One of the cars in question....

LMAO!

If thats one of the Ferrari's they used, then its 100% fake. It looks terrible!

I had a VIP backstage pass and at the end of the show, I was able to have a good look at all three of the "alleged" Ferraris. :D

Firstly none of the three had any red trim, so that photo is false, two had mustard and one was all black. :P

Now i don't profess to be a Ferrari afficionado, but they certainly had ferrari dials, large slotted rotors 355mm at least, large ferrari/brembo calipers,

rims had 5 studs not 4, they were all well and truely beaten up, with gaffa tape here and there and some shitty panel repairs.

The rear hatch/engine covers were opaque/scarlet in colour so the engines were'nt visible, but is that so unusual? So I'm not convinced

they were copies yet, a mate of mine took some pics so hopefully he has a few of the cars in question and if so will post.

Still they were not high on the ogle ajenda as the koenigsegg, R8, Gallardo, W427, promo girls, etc, were. :)

EDIT: but then again........clicky me for looky.

I should have made it a little clearer, I wasn't claiming that the picture I posted was the cars used on the day. Just a random picture of what they might have looked like.

from what i know, ferrari doesnt exactly like people to trash their cars... thats why they arent on gran turismo, ferrari didnt want them being crashed on a game, so i can understand if they said no to top gear doing that... they wouldnt even lend them an enzo to go round the track, they had to get a privatly owned one.. still they shouldnt be flogging them off as ferraris..

and my mate who knows little of cars had a ball.. and for all he knows they were genuine ferraris and he saw them doing burnouts etc. so he was stoked. i dont have the heart to tell him that they were fake... you could probably convince him that a straight mr2 was a ferrari.

at the end of the day... if your a car guru or atleast interested in cars enough to have some mechanical and general knowledge of cars... you'll know that you wont get anything out of going to see a top gear show.. its entertainment.. thats all.. its for the same kids that see an NA skyline with big wheels and get excited... but not knowing what the heck they are really looking at.

cheers

    • Kaizo Industries put a VIN plate over where the Nissan plate would go. It was part of how they broke the law and attracted feds going after them.
    • Reasonably hard, although I haven't run it with the new Endless setup yet. The old brakes were F50's on 335mm rotors and the car did a 1:40.6 at Phillip Island which is a reasonable time, I'm seeing high 600s on the temperature paint. A guy I know ran the Endless fluid at WTAC without issues and he was doing 1:33's I think (Evo) with a 355/332 setup. I don't get out to the track as much as I'd like but we put the car on the hoist and spanner check every bolt and re-paint mark everything, bleed the brakes, change the fuel, check the coolant system and re-bleed blah blah blah before every event. Motorsport is expensive, RB's are expensive so a couple of hours before an event is time well spent. It's also a net time saving because if you can keep your RB from self destructing it saves you time in the long term!
    • Welcome Alice......hope you have a bit more luck from here on! What was done in the build?
    • Hello! I'm new here, I have an R33 GTST that is currently being finished up! Last year was pretty rough, blew two stock turbos so I decided to build the car. Has been down since November, but I get it back next weekend!
    • Hello, I believe my car was imported to America in the 2000s by Kaizo Industries. Would anyone be able to help me find more info on them? I've only found all the basic stuff like that paul walker bnr34, them being shutdown by feds, just stuff like that. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
