Although there seems to be a problem with Tim's cooling- no matter how good your cooling set-up is eventually with consistent laps, temps are going to get bad on a day like that. I know it's hard to resist sliding the corners on the cool down laps :) but you better off getting the cool air into the engine bay than going off and letting the car just sit idling.

I ran thicker oil 10w-60 and although I doubt it helped with temps at all it certainly stayed thicker when I checked it during the day than my usual 5w-40 which turns to water. Oil pressure was dropping to 2bar and Tim said his got as low as 1bar!!

Looks like the skylines are all coming out this year for the drifts... Was getting sick of all the silvias :/

Haha.

you'll be disappointed that I might be in a sil80 at the next event if we get it ready in time. Me and 2 others (Femno-mat and DriftSX-Tim) are building a stripped out drifter. Will be sick.

I remember sitting in the start line with my oil and water temp both at 100 and saying to myself ok just grip this lap to let the car cool down...and as soon as i got to the first corner i slide the whole back section haha :D

lol ive given up telling myself ill do a 'cool down' lap.. who the hell am i trying to kid...

new shell is stripped out.. cage is on the way.. spray booth is booked :D Its all happening YAY!

Wow, already, your certainly not wasting any time. :O I havn't even taken my car number off yet. :(

We have to have it done by the end of march as we're heading to Thailand for 10 days before the April event...

But during March, my hubby is also in Sydney for about 4 days for VW training so we need to get as much done as possible straight away...

We're a good team when it comes to stripping and building cars :(
