cool, google maps shows a BP there so ill take it as that one. 1 Hour 19 Mins from my house, be there 8:15, ill leave at 7.

mate pretty sure the southern expressway will be open coming south, it wont take that long, takes 18 min to go from the start of expressway to beach rd BP remember its early not much traffic yet.???? more like a hour worse case access to expressway on south rd or marion rd. just watch for video/ cops on expressway no speeding..lol

Damo from your house to mine in aldinga took me about 1:20 the other night including a drive thru stop and a slow down from water main break on south rd with the expressway open?,on the way down to you it took 1:55 not on expressway

the BP is a rocks throw down beach rd and Dyson rd corner on the right hand side across from FORD you cant miss it .,lonsdale highway, commercial rd on some maps, its all the same rd with 3 names depending on the map..lol dont need a map, get on expressway, get off on beach rd exit(right hand exit) turn right at roundabout exit, go down past 3 stop lights your there, about a couple of K off expressway

looking for brekkie, if pete wont feed ya,,lol, subway, bakers delight (or brumbries) cant remember which is in BP, or macca's on the corner across from cop shop on beach rd and dyson rd. and a fancy coffee house a few blocks down on the corner past woolies on the right hand side if you have time ? BP does fancy coffee too, but no idea cause I dont drink it..lol

Easy in insulting the planners mate :P We didn't touch that project. Should have been 2 way in our opinion. Blame the Traffic Engineers for that one, and the fact that Transport SA wouldn't listen to every detail from the traffic engineers anyway.

I generally assist with the planning/drafting of residential infill (and allotment allocations/subdivisions) and road networks ... no way I'd touch freeway/highway planning.

Soft! My mate Alex will be doubling up coming from Richmond up to my house near Port Adelaide... then we'll be driving up to Parafield Gardens to grab my girlfriend and then meet Krishy infront of his house which is around the corner from hers... then from there we'll be heading to Ingle Farms which is only a slight detour away from heading South anyways. You live close to Krishy - could meet us there 6:20am?

all I know town of 1.5? mill needs a highway or two across the city, if we had one it would be nothing to fly across town in half hour or so.

end rant

yeah huge mistake on the Expressway......too late now.

They had the opportunity to go 1 extra lane without too much extra on the budget while they were building it......2 way with a total of 4 lanes is what they should've done.

    • Good turnout and some old faces.
    • Wow its been a while since Ive signed in for sure.  Time gets away... Good question. So much was different between the two designs.  The RB315 was a test to see if I could do it.  Limitations were for the most part due to local machining capability.  Tolerances were an issue.  The 3.15 used a single OD dry sleeve, and was almost the same as a kakimoto spacer plate engine, except I used a plate design similar to the OS Giken plate.  I did not make the top flanges thick enough either.  I can't be sure if it was machining tolerances, or thermal distortion of the sleeves, but the engine did produce quite a bit of blow by.  The modified 87mm RB30 crank was also an issue, and was no where near as nicely balanced as the forged 90mm crank in the 3.4. The 34 was a next level build.  The sleeves were stepped for max thickness, and were a semi-wet design breaking though into coolant completely in the block.  Minimum thickness was 3.75mm and max was 5mm with the 90mm bore, and the new spacer plate also fully supported the tops of the sleeves closed deck style.  This combined with far superior CNC machining, and a cylinder hone finish that the machinist does on 3000hp pro stock cars resulted in no noticeable blow by at all.   In the end the 3.15 was removed to swap in the 3.4.  I discovered the modified RB30 crank had partially sheared the woodruff key on the balancer.  That was all that was wrong with it, but it did make the engine a paperweight at that stage. $1100 to make another crank for an engine with blow by issues was not worth it, considering I'd started playing with all Nitto forged internals instead. I hope you found this interesting.   Cheers, Ian
    • All their parts, when order directly off them are made to order. So you're able to customise fitment of things or delete things. E.g. I asked for no throttle cable bracket, no IACV port, etc. on my plenum. In hindsight, I should have asked for an IAT port/fitting welded on, hindsight no. Should have bought a M2 or 3 lol.
