Hi all, This has probably been covered a billion times before so i apologize if i upset anyone.

Im currently in the process of replacing an RB20e (yuck!) with its DET sibling (including manual conversion) into an A31 and was just interested to know how i go about getting it passed by regency? Im aware some type of engineering cert may be needed but is that all it takes?

Where could i get this done in Adelaide and how much is a certificate usually worth? Should I not bother and just wing it, and if i happen to cop a defect just gut it for drifting? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Simon.

Go talk to your department of transport, they should give you a list of registered engineers in your area, then go talk to them about what is required for them to give you a modplate/engineers cert.

Usually it will just be something as simple as upgrading the brakes to the equivalent of the DET model.

varies from state to state. In VIC you'd need an engineers cert, and their biggest requirement is that you have upgraded brakes and handling to compensate for the extra power.

eg: RB20DET brakes, spring rates in suspension, bigger brake boosters etc.
