hi all me again asking yet more questions :uh-huh:

in my everlasting triumph to convince my dad to buy a skyline over a new 2003 model crappy car i have come across an effective way to argue my case.

i can argue how RWD is sooo much better than FWD accept before i do that id actually need to know why. basically i know theres better control and traction but is this only at higher speeds? If you could please write basically the facts of the advantages of RWD over FWD id really appreciate that thanks

No flamers unless u have to :D all bumps welcome :bahaha:

Bambam's right, FWD is safer to control....in other words...it's harder to get it 'out of control'

definately less prone to spinning out in the wet.

advantages of RWD in the real world? Not much...

That's only if you wanna put your case forward that it corners and handles the way a car should on the race track.

becoz it is a lot more fun

fun=danger

theres better control but not traction

Things worth trying might be: (dunno how true these are, but if he dosn't know cars might be able to pull it off).

- The fact that there is a driveshaft running down the lenght of the car makes it the chassis stronger and more solid in the event of a crash.

- The only reason front wheel drive cars are made, is because their cheaper

- Skyline brakes are generally very strong (not related to drive but might help).

- If you know how to drive properly (which u obviosly do:)), RWD cars can be easier to controll, understeer badly in a corner in a fwd car, ur stuffed, oversteer can be controlled to an extent.

Drive any car stupidly and you can get into trouble. FWD is definitely a safer drivetrain. RWD is more fun, but basically I think you should follow everyone's advice, stop trying to bullshit your old man and buy a car you want with your own money.

If your old man wants a boring, reliable, economical, cheap to insure FWD car then try and bend him a bit but a skyline would be totally inappropriate for his needs.

RWD : Weight distribution is more balanced than FWD. Braking performance is enhanced. Your tires will wear more evenly.

Cornering is easyer and more responsive. Hard acceleration performance is better than a FWD.

Cornering is better due to power and steering is aplied through separate axles instead of the one. There is no torque steer.

FWD : traction is good during mild acceleration on wet/slippery surfaces. Lighter than a RWD. Better fuel economy. Most FWDs have a small engine. Interior room is enhanced because of no longitudinal driveshaft. Cheaper to afford

If your still after that r34 ive left a link in the other r34 post.

Hope i could help

Skyline boy
