1,7,11,12,13 would be my fave's

When setting yourself up for a day of taking pics u should look at the angles of which the car is coming in at.. these pics are the right angles... rear end shots are good but front shots look better in my opinion!

Yeah true, front shots do look awesome, but I also wanted a bit of variety otherwise id have a couple hundred shots that all look the same.

Next practice i'll be heading off to the first S's for some shots there as well as some more experimental shots like the very last one.

Hey, some great shots there, i don't usually do public drift days but i intend on going to the next one! What camera are you using? i think you got the frame set up the way it should but just need to bring down the shutter speed so you get the perception of motion in the rims, Having such a high shutter speed give's frozen rims that just look strange when you know in your head that the car is doing some speed but it looks as if it is still in the photo

Cheers. I used a Nikon D40 for these shots, but just recently upgraded to a D90.

I definately do need to learn to slow the shutter speed down. My panning skills are not that great but its something that I'll keep trying to get right over the coming year as I plan on being at every drift event at Mallala. Its definately a new skill im trying to learn as I come from an "abstract art" type of background and am still fairly new to photography.

Let me know when your next going up, I have never actually done drift days and want to give it a go, i mainly do privet days, I am not a pro at this by any means!! I shoot with a D80 but very soon a D300 I hope! here are 4 shots from my trip in january that show panning, give a good perception of speed.
