I used a normal socket on a Toyota Soarer air bag, it had strange looking bolts, but they seemed to fit a 10mm socket.

EDIT: Dont forget to disconnect the battery.

pretty sure that if your replacing ur standard steering wheel with an aftermarket one that hasn't got an airbag that its illegal. if the car came stock with one its supposed to stay that way???

Well im not sure this would matter as you can buy an S1 R33 and they dont have an air bag, however the S2 does.. So i cant see why you cant change. But then again they have some stupid laws out there

Yeah, S1 were optional. Just remember, by law, you must NOT remove an airbag equiped wheel and replace it with a non-airbag wheel. Insurance companies, police, you name it, they will know if you have an accident and no airbag was present- NIL insurance cover. Just remember its very easy for any company that has a vested interest in your vehicle to find out if your car was airbag equiped from factory. VIN numbers give it away.
