Do not have to be great quakity tyres, just nee da tyre to put on my rims for when the car is at the panel beater. Federal seem ok brandwise and also i can ensure that the the tyre size is the same as the semi slick i want to run so that i am ensured enough guard clearance.

Unless of course somebody has some used 255/40/17 RE55s and 245/40/17s for the front. Just need them for guard mod purposes

IF you only need them for guard clearance etc why are you buying good tyres at all? Or asking for 2nd hand RE55s?

Go to a tyre shop (any) and ask for some 2nd hand ones in the size you need, you will get them for about $30 tops. Go to the "richer" suburbs as they like to rip their standard rims and tyres off their Euros to go bigger or better, so can usually get cheap conti's, pirelli etc in the larger sizes

access autoworks in trade place vermont.

trackside tyres in kilsyth would prolly have second hand RE55's, they also stock Falkens which are comparable price wise to federals and some models are better compared at a similar price point
